hm, I’d be more interested to know how this game came about in the first place (really)

that current Engerland team is so strong, they must have known that this was going to be a potential and highly embarrassing slaughter (I’d imagined a 6-0 or worse scoreline was on the cards) they didn’t have to take the game, all a bit suss to me

some FAI heads up to dirty tricks yet again? was Kenny dropped in it?

Grealish, Keane, Maguire… The Irish boys played well tonight. And still had Rice and Kane to call on.

      1. Joe F

OK, so you’re predicting England does well next year? I better go down to Paddy Power and bet on some other teams considering all your other recent predictions old boy.

The highlight of last night’s game was Kenny Cunningham just before the half-time break saying the scoreline didn’t reflect Ireland’s contribution.
They were 2-0 down at this stage and hadn’t had a shot on goal in the first half and didn’t until the 72 minute of the game.
When I messaged my pals in Blighty you could almost hear the laughter rolling across the Irish Sea.
To be fair even the lads in the studio were a bit embarrassed by this.
You’re right about Delaney though – if only all those millions wasted over the years had been ploughed into the youth of the game Ireland might now be reaping the rewards.
Instead they bumbling around with the Faroe Islands and Gibraltars of Europe.
Football is a cruel mistress as well as a beautiful game.

          1. Charger Salmons

Jeez, how many more thousands of Irish people who’ve fallen on hard times is Blighty going to have to help out ?
Still, you have to wonder who he was cheering for last night.

Is the Daily Telegraph missing a full stop there, between ‘no’ and ’10’?
    Clearly a full-stop rather than a bullet.
    Very apt.

Also in today’s Daily Telegraph, top left…
“Diana was the ultimate super model yet damaged.”

      Who the Hell is Diana?
Is she like related to somebody famous or something?

      What’s the story?

In the Residential Property supplement of The Irish Times yesterday (12/11/2020), the headline of the main article reads, Splendid Isolation: quarantine rentals.

    Something doesn’t add up.

Don’t forget about the, “Crying Chair” types, Steph. (I’ve been quarantining for @ 3 years from The IT).

    Joy to the World!

“Every December since 2017, First Lady Melania Trump filled the White House with holiday decorations: Christmas trees, wreaths, garland, colorful lights, gingerbread houses, and more. 2020 marks the final holiday season for the Trump White House. Volunteers from across the country will work diligently in late November to get the White House ready for the very popular public White House holiday tours. “

What’s it like to pander to a country that breaks international law, making Rabb’s comments about China yesterday laughable, has lost its standing on the world stage, and where the PM runs the country based on what he’s told to do by his 4th wife.. you should be very glad to be in care in Ireland where you will still be eating next year, unlike many of your British chums..

Pennsylvania Judge Rules Secretary Of State Had No Legal Authority To Change Ballot Identification Deadline At Short Notice

Judge Mary Leavitt ruled in favour of the Trump campaign on Thursday, and ordered that ballots must not be counted where the voters in question failed to provide the relevant identification by November 9th.

This has to do with ballots where first-time voters didn’t provide proof of identity within 6 days after the election, NOT the PA Supreme Court ruling allowing ballots to be counted if received up to 3 days after e-day but, it sets a precedent for bigger plays. I’ll not link to this story as the usual will be sniping at the sources but you can duck go yourself- it is fact.

Also, from a tech perspective, Dominion voting system is coming under increased scrutiny. A lady called Mellissa Carone who was a contractor hired to support the system in Detroit has filed an affidavit stating among other things, that because of hardware malfunctions- scanners jamming etc- it was possible to record the same batch of votes up to ten times. That is not a ‘glitch’- that is a design flaw- for which the service providers may be liable.

Then there is questions being asked about the security of the actual PC’s because most of them were running on Windows 7- described as a hacker’s wet dream- and finally, groups of volunteers are trawling through the election results to identify anomalies.

One which has been widely reported is where votes were returned the day after they were mailed which is impossible and in some cases, returned before their recorded post-date. No figures on how common these events were as yet but it is the sort of thing that should be checked after every election.

No matter how this turns out, because of the disputed nature of the result, the authorities will be forced to upgrade their IT systems and procedures before the next one.

    1. ReproBertie

No link to your story and you missed the important bit.

“A Pennsylvania state judge ruled Thursday in favor of the Trump campaign and ordered the state not to count some mail-in ballots that were missing proof of identification and cured during an extended deadline—but the ruling will not change the vote count as it currently stands and will not impact Joe Biden’s win in the state.”

Won a court case but still lost the election.

Yeah, all their claims have proven to be lies, exagerrations, fabrications and distortions. This is sure to do it.

      1. Junkface

Yep. It’s looking like almost all of the voter fraud allegations were debunked as reported yesterday. Who would’ve guessed that Trump would make this stuff up? He only said he would do exactly this about 2 months ago. And the selection of big numbers getting thrown around, we have : 60,000, 100,000, 2.7 million. Trumps next number will be bigly, maybe 7 million votes? Who knows what he will pull from his a-hole next?

Even Tucker Carlson’s dead voter claims are falling apart. For the reality challenged, reality bites.

Good piece by Colm Keena on Woulfe saga that I missed on Tuesday.

‘Impeaching a judge was for serious matters such as being caught fixing a case, or taking a bribe, which had not happened in this instance.

‘The so-called Golfgate saga involved an error of judgment, and “judges make errors all the time. That’s why we have a Court of Appeal”.’

Even Tucker Carlson’s dead voter claims are falling apart. For the reality challenged, reality sure does bite.

In other Trumpland news, his ‘supporters’ are now receiving ‘Final Demands’ for donations as the great grift continues.

He needs a gold plated toilet for Mar-a-lago! Plus he has several children with learning difficulties and cocaine habits to maintain. Oh…. and his transactional wife will be leaving soon, so she needs her contractual financial remunerations.
