POD jumping on the live stream buzz I see.
I’m sure that is nothing to do with the massive grants certain promoters (90k to POD)and venues got to produce these online shows.
The vast majority of people have no interest watching a gig on their computer. So they’re a box ticking exercise at best.
Grants that are also conditional on the cash being spent this year I believe. ;)
Grants also includes:
400k to Aiken promotions
300k to Olympia / MCD
Both these big boy companies have made the majority of their staff redundant this year. In-house staff that have worked there years too, not part timers / contractors.
But sure live streamed gigs – yaaaaaay…
D-Nice has hundreds of thousands of people watching his Club Quarantaine – there is an audience for such things.
Sure, it’s not ideal, but it’s nice to have something, at least.
That’s great an all, but the Tax payer isn’t paying for his streamed shows
We are – plus it’s going to already WELL established companies that have let their staff go (not all). So we’re all paying for their staff as well.
Same as the ROQU scandal the other day, same as the music grants via FMC last week – lots of money being spent on absolute rubbish with no real thought put into it.
But yeah, it’s nice to have something…
Savage, I love’s a bit of Art explaining the experience of Covid to me… should be a trend for the next 2 to 3 years, can’t wait
I know, hard pass,
I never want to hear the fupping word again
what we all need is a good hard dose of Punk
+ 1 and a selection box
I can see selection boxes falling under the frown of wokeness.
enjoy them while you can.
