Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly

This morning.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has said vaccine certificates are part of the implementation plan for the Covid-19 vaccination.

Via RTÉ

Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, he said it needed to be seen how effective the vaccine is at reducing transmission, adding that this was not yet known by the regulator or the vaccine producer.

Once that information was known, he said, informed decisions could be made about how exactly a certificate could be used.

The minister said he had heard that airlines were looking at the potential for people needing vaccinations certificates to fly.

At least Donnelly is paying some lip service at the very least to the clear logical inconsistency in the argument in favour of a vacine passport/certificate. If the person remains infectious and can transmit the virus, what exactly is the rationale behind insisting on all who travel or wish to particIpate in society having one? A Certificate of being a Good Little Citizen? The virus being used as the pretext to introduce widespread biometric identities to every person on the planet becomes clearer by the day.

I look forward to them attempting to legally enforce that without full scientific evidence of it’s inoculative efficacy- this from someone who used to call himself a Social DEMOCRAT.

At least in the UK Nadhim Zahawi, Minister for Business & Industry and COVID Vaccine Deployment, has stated “”Mandating vaccinations is discriminatory & completely wrong. I, like @SteveBakerHW, urge businesses listening to this today not to even think about this. We’ve absolutely no plans for vaccine passports””

The absolute horror of not being allowed to leave the country without an official peice of paper! We’ve had billions of years of unfettered access to other countries without needing a peice of paper so making us produce an official document now is tyranny – TYRANNY!!1!!!elevent!!!

          1. E'Matty

and you are incredibly thick. You’ve such a low IQ you actually cannot even recognise the clear implications for democracy of mandating every person in society have a biometric identity which they require to enage with society. There’s no hope for such unthinking cattle such as yourself. Hopefully your kind won’t drag us all down with you. A cull might be no harm at all….

I don’t really have an issue with vaccines to travel abroad.

If it’s a condition of the country you want to go to – lots of places have mandatory vaccines and it’s not really a problem.

As long as it doesn’t become a condition to travel and attend events in your own country.

    That is just wrong.

    1. Dave

From cancer research UK “there’s currently no data on the extent to which COVID-19 vaccines can prevent transmission.”
So because you can spread the virus even though you’ve been vaccinated this certificate makes no sense.

      1. Micko

Dave – You know this doesn’t make sense. I know that it doesn’t make sense.

Unfortunately rational and common sense has gone out the proverbial bloody window, so let’s just get people “feeling safe” again and we can all go back to normal.

Hence me not having an issue with the travel abroad bit – as long as I don’t have to get it to GO TO FUPPPIN WORK!!!!

        Cool? ;)

Slippery slope and opens the door for more invasive identification proposals..if it’s a real issue why are certs not issued for the likes of measles which is highly contagious and infectious

…if only we had some management consultants and a useful idiot.

..People Before Profit TD Gino Kenny welcomed the department’s support during the pandemic.

“The department confirmed to the Irish Examiner that collections and delivery of medical cannabis to date have cost approximately €8,975 and that 49 patients now have licences for medical cannabis.”

a neighbors delivery business, went from 1,200 a day to 10,000 a day,but this is some delivery service, for a weed that grows anywhere.

“A delivery service from the Netherlands to Ireland to assist patients of licensed clinicians in obtaining their prescribed cannabis products, which was established in April 2020 on a temporary basis due to the Covid-19 restrictions on travel, is now to be made permanent.”

almost 2 grand a customer to deliver.

    1. Dave

To call it a medicine you have to be able to specify the dosage. This is the hard part that the Dutch are able to provide and make those super profits. License to print money if you can do it.

      1. Johnny

you have qualify as a drug and a patient, but People Before Profit have their top man on it,Gino’s got you….he’s more au fait with the bmx bike delivery model than cultivation.

        1. Johnny

          wtf-dial your dealer.

“I am so pleased that these problems will now be a thing of the past for them. There will no longer be a need for them to travel abroad in order to collect their prescribed cannabis products. Instead, they can focus on their health and wellbeing. The welfare of patients and their families comes first and I am happy to reassure them that they will no longer have to personally source their prescriptions.”

….DELIVERY but NO GROWING-only a management consultant and a band wagon jumping populist would applaud this stupidity,oh and High Times.

          https://hightimes.com/news/cannabis-delivery-ireland-here-stay/

Grant every qualifying patient the licenses/rights to grow six plants and get out the way, expand qualification to include pain and medicine to include flower or pot, it really is not that hard, any two bit management consultant could and has figured it out.

Deliver is wasteful populist empty BS boop-boops.

    So the vaccine’s not mandatory?
Only if you wish to :
    Travel
    Attend events
    Go to a GP
    Got to a hospital

    Whats next?
    School
    Work
    Restaurants
    Pubs
    Public Transport

But hey it’s you body your choice (Unless you wish to participate in society)

    So definitely not mandatory

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

Passports and driving licences aren’t mandatory unless you want to travel abroad or drive a car.

      1. Micko

I think people are concerned that these passports could be used to curtail a lot more of their liberties Daisy.

Surely you can see the rational – even if you don’t agree with it or think it’s exaggerated?

It may be that the vaccine doesn’t absolutely prevent transmission. But it seems people are a lot more contagious when they are coughing and spluttering during the symptoms of the disease. If the vaccine can stop that, it will greatly reduce the spread of the disease.

But that’s for the scientists to prove. If they can tear themselves away from plotting to inject the 5G into our ear lobes and working with Microsoft to make us all socialists.

We are truly living in the age of stupidity.
Never has so much information been so easily available to so many and what has it given us? Flat earthers and anti-vaxers..

    1. Micko

You could argue that the access to so much information has actually created a situation where truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Of course, I mean subjective truth and not objective truth or absolute truth when I say that.

But, were we better off when the information was harder to get to?

Have we lost something having the entirety of human knowledge at our fingertips.

Was it better when we had to journey to a library, then use the complex reference system and find the book that possibly might help you?

Was the actual turning of the pages, the effort of having our eyes saccade across the written word better for us?

Were we actually more deserving of the knowledge when we worked harder for it? Was the suffering key to the knowledge?

It all seems so copy and paste now.

    2. Just Sayin

      Truth, what is the truth?

      You can:-

A: Let it be what the MSM tells you.

B: Go with your favourite conspiracy theory.

C: Do your best to independently research the truth and or consult people you trust.

However if you go with option C and that doesn’t agree with Option A,
then the sheep who always go with Option A will label you as a loony Option B.

Hence any dissent from the mainstream narrative on Covid is dismissed as anti-vaxx

It’s quite clear now that our government are behaving as little more than turd polishers for the introduction of a transnational ‘biosecurity state’ as some have dubbed it – a technology-driven system of governance with heightened levels of surveillance and social control hitherto never seen in western liberal democracies. All under the guise of protecting public heath.

It doesn’t bear any scrutiny that the issuance of vaccine certificates will be an effective means to determine how effective the vaccine is at reducing transmission. It’s just a flimsy pretence to bring the public along, after which, the goalposts will be moved as Donnelly himself is essentially saying.

I shared this post last summer by Italian contemporary philosopher Giorgio Agamben but I think it’s just as relevant today: https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2020/06/02/biosecurity-and-politics/

I see there is a redress scheme being proposed for those who have a bad reaction. Will we have the poor rushing forward hoping to play vaccine lotto. Get sick win big. I cant help thinking this is designed to trigger the conditions for super inflation to bail out the world financial system. Bad as I feel this is tis better than war which has always been the default tool for such things. I also note today Australian TV pundits forecasting conscription post covid economic crash.
