            The whisteblower who brought the Grace case to light is on the record as saying that she does not think that Noonan is to blame for that awful scandal.

            Whereas Gerry Adams left his niece in the care of her abuser for decades, and then put pressure on the victim not to name his brother as the abuser, so this seems like a peculiar choice of scenario for you to attempt to take the moral high-ground on.

    The Sunday Independent story on The Green parties, junior Minister Malcolm Noonan comments on reintroducing the Water charges, Wow, do they really want to wake that sleeping beast. Just like the mudguard Labour Parties 2016 election meltdown, it will be the rock the Green Party perish on, come next election.

    Waking up to good news on the vaccine front.
    The EU has started administering the first Pfizer shots as the vaccine programme in the UK approaches the one million mark.
    And the UK will approve the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab this week with a mass rollout starting almost immediately.
    Even as the second wave and new mutations explode across the world there is some renewed hope for the future.
    Marvellous.

    Boris has achieved a trade deal that will be supported by Nigel Farage and Kier Starmer.
    Both will do so reluctantly but the fact they will is a triumph for Boris.
    Now the uncertainty has been resolved the deal will supercharge the UK economy with massive pent-up foreign investment.
    This time last year Boris won an election promising to leave the EU and deliver a trade deal.
    Very few politicans get to come good on election promises.
    The BOGOF Brothers Mehole and Varadkar can’t even agree on whose turn it is to look a tool in public.
    This has become Boris’s finest hour.

    Surely the Green Party aren’t that tone deaf, that stupid. I mean, they could ask a few key members of the Labour Party how that went last time.

    FFG do love a convenient scapegoat and SF are great at capitalising on a good populist cause. But if you ask me, the Greens have written themselves back into opposition already, come the next GE.

    Talk about squandering a good opportunity at every turn.

      …I think the greens see an electoral pact with FFG as the only way to get re-elected…they have already shed any principles they had but managed to retain three quarters of their membership…they seem to have a core vote regardless but they betrayed the people who helped them over the line last time…

        The Greens were always in favour of water charges – any environmentalist would be. Agree that it might not be the most opportune moment to bring them up, however.

          …environmentalists may beg to differ…in fact…so big was the opposition to water charges and the inevitable drive towards privatisation that I’m sure many environmentalists were among the ranks that forced the eventual climbdown…environmentalists may object to their cause being used as a flag of convenience by the current bunch of opportunists who claim it…

        True.
        They became the gift of choice for a lot of corporates though. Up to €500 can be given tax free. And the recipients find that they they can’t spend them in some of the (limited) advertised shops.
