And Then A Zero Comes Along

From left: Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications and Minister for Transport Eamon RyanTaoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and and Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly at a post cabinet press briefing in Government Buildings yesterday

Yesterday evening.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin said the idea of a zero-Covid strategy has not been dismissed.

He said NPHET has never advised the Government to go for a zero-Covid strategy, but their position is we suppress the virus to the lowest possible level.

He said it would have to be a very long-term policy and there is a question of its sustainability.

Level 5 restrictions to continue until 5 March (RTÉ)

The state of Irish politics. 10 months down the line and we’ve regressed to debate between ‘near-total lockdown indefinitely ‘ and ‘total lockdown indefinitely’ as the two options on the table. If ever there was a need for fresh thinking..

I think they’re just stalling and have been from the beginning. They know the time-frame and we’re being drip-fed lockdown after rolling lockdown. If they had told us in March last year that we were going to be locked down for the best part of 18 months, no one would have accepted it.

Google told their employees – March 2020, I think – to work from home and not to expect to return to office work until at least June 2021.

…lockdown is the only remedy shown to work…what about your own solutions…you seem to have gone a bit quiet on your let the virus rip and get herd immunity strategy…how are those remedies going for you?

So, was Varadkar’s Party-In-The-Park that he rented the house (Stewards Lodge)for, legal or illegal?

Or Mary Lou and Michelle O’Neill attending the hooley, sorry “funeral”, for terror thug Bobby Storey? Legal or illegal Giggidybot?
