If air traffic doesn’t recover soon the airlines will relocate their planes elsewhere, what then for an Island Nation?

Government’s attempt to deflect blame to the Airports will backfire big time.
11.2 million visitors in 2018 generating 18 billion euros of GDP, that’s 5%.
    All gone, maybe permanently.

Without tourism revenue each household will have to pay an additional €1,000 in tax annually, and that’s not including unemployment payments for those who have lost their jobs.

€5bn+ gone out the door in PUP payments alone up to Christmas time so I suspect your grand there will end up being a mere drop in the ocean compared to what’s on the horizon ida. I imagine all sorts of creative taxes will emerge soon…

      speaking of water, ahem

So Ida are you saying the Irish population has to suffer for another 6months just so we can keep the airports open.

If we closed the airports last feb/mar we wouldnt be in this mess. Respect the New Zealanders.
