Behold: what will soon be the world’s largest tropical greenhouse under one roof. Unveiled at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale, the vast Tropicalia (35m tall at its highest point) is planned for Northern France’s Côte d’Opale and is set to be completed by 2024. To wit:
Tropicalia will provide a unique tropical greenhouse experience with a regular temperature of just under 80°F (26°C). It will feature both tropical plants and fauna such as fish, reptiles, birds, and butterflies. This man-made ecosystem will take up over 200,000 square feet of land and is enclosed by a massive dome.

:)
People in glasshouses shouldn’t throw…their clothes off.
It’s amazing, and since actual tropical rainforests and jungles are being chopped and burned at an ever-increasing pace, it’ll be nice to have a few surviving remnants for the super-rich to enjoy in their hermetically sealed biodomes.
interesting-going look into it/follow up later for two reasons.
-an optimal thermal isolation with the conception of a double dome,
-an energy self-sufficiency thanks to the Terraotherm innovation, all the heat produced by the greenhouse’s effect will be recycled and stocked. The surplus energy will be exported via a heat network into buildings and surrounding businesses.
most cannabis design teams have given up on outdoor cultivation, its now just bush league with the environmental risks outweighing any potential rewards, crop insurance is nonexistent in many parts states, none at all for cannabis.
so we grow indoors in greenhouses-like above:)
almost 5 acres
impressive! and for an estimated budget of $62 million
now imagine if so much € was not wasted trying to shoehorn an overly detailed and overly spec’d children’s hospital into the wrong location what we could have done with the change?
stop it,or i’m going try pitch this and lose any credibly i have left:)
the crazy thing is at 5,000 a pound for indoor grown cannabis, one light per square foot,4 pulls or harvests a year,i could probably convince some canadian cannabis company to do a study…
I’d love to know exactly where that will be
