That old colour scheme was gorgeous – from the days before “creatives”
When I first sat upstairs on a double-decker, as a chissler, I thought the bus was gobbling up all the oncoming traffic.
I always find it inspiring when the authorities in charge of Dublin’s transport prioritise a new colour scheme for Dublin’s buses. Happens every ten or so years. Meanwhile the quality of public transport is notoriously poor, with Dublin now having one of the worst commuter travel times in Europe. How many quangos are there now ‘in charge’ of the situation? Dept of Transport, CIE, NTA, TFI, TII, etc. And so who is accountable? Farce.
The green colour scheme was originally reserved for the low emission hybrid buses, but then they decided to apply it to all of them, including the existing old smoke spewing diesels. They took a good idea and ruined it.
It applies to all buses/coaches owned by the NTA operated by Dublin Bus,Bus Eireann and Go Ahead….if the vehicle has the TFI logo on it it’s owned by the NTA.
