Boosters For All

at

This afternoon.

Via Independent.co.uk:

US health officials have announced that they are prepared to offer booster shots of the Moderna and Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines for all Americans beginning the week of 20 September.

“We conclude that a booster shot will be needed to maximize vaccine-induced protection and prolong its durability,” a statement reads.

The timing of the booster shot will be eight months after an individual’s second dose of the vaccine.

“Based on our latest assessment, the current protection against severe disease, hospitalisation, and death could diminish in the months ahead.”

A separate plan is being formed for recipients of the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine.

Meanwhile…

Current data does not indicate that Covid-19 booster shots are needed, the World Health Organization has said.

The WHO added that the most vulnerable people worldwide should be fully vaccinated before high-income countries deploy a top-up.

I wonder, if one doesn’t get the booster within a certain time period after your second vaccine, will you still be considered vaccinated for the Digital Vaccine Pass? If someone now has two doses, but doesn;t wnat anymore, will they face being considered unvacinated in the next 12 months? So glad to not have taken the first step.

I really am getting a déjà vu feeling about all of this- HIV/AIDS all over again, except on a much larger scale.

There is little money in cures but huge money in treatments and it should be no surprise that the same players were/are involved in both.

Some countries already limit the validity of the vaccination pass to 12 months. So, you’ll have to renew it if you want to travel to those countries without quarantining.

the architecture is in place, would be churlish not to use it .
do the various governments get credit for the vaccines which maybe didn’t do what it said on the tin they would.
government is fallible, science is fallible, eamonn is fallible.
who knows the best course of action – talk to joe ?

” would be churlish not to use it .”

Surely revaccinating people for a 3rd time in the US/Europe while the majority of people around the world haven’t even gotten their first vaccine is the definition of “churlish” – ie mean spirited.

Yes I forgot that all other resources like food, clean water, all other medicines, and wealth are now at a global equilibrium.

I need a sarcasm font, I can only agree with you.
The architecture I refer to is that which looks after the providers – not the consumers.

    LOL

and Govt will have a new tax soon enough to cover it (and whatever trough sundries)

can we have a competition yet for what it will be called?

…though it would make for great headlines if details were vague:

        Vax tax lacks facts.
        (I’ll stop now).
