My friend Dave worked in Dublin Virgin megastore & met Charlie Watts there in 1993
He followed Charlie, carrying a pile of vinyl, as he flicked through the racks, buying over 20 jazz records (Charlie Mingus). Dave got his autograph and said Charlie was a gentleman. #RIPCharlie pic.twitter.com/iMOSuuzNZI— Brand New Retro (@brandnewretro) August 24, 2021

Topper of a headline Broadsheet!
RIP that man Charlie.
I remember working in Windmill Lane in 1993. Charlie was such a gentleman and I have so many quotes/stories that I would love to share. “Hey, Charlie, who’s that beautiful chick on your album cover?” “That chick, Ciarán, is my daughter.” Ouch!
Luckily for you Charlie was impervious to pervs by then.
He had spent over 100+yrs in a band with 3 of them already.
It happened to me too, 20yrs later.

The Stones created the Stadium circuit, then they went around it again and again and again…
…and again..
Younger folks blame it on Bono.
They’re just two bands with similar accounting strategies.
Totally not similar, or the same.
Good Luck Larry!*
