Yes they can, but they have to be consistent with the protections afforded by the US Constitution, which is usually assessed by the US Supreme Court, and guess who recently got to change the make-up of that fine institution to their ideological advantage?
Also the anti-abortion laws are foul by any measure. Not to mention the hysterical laws ‘banning CRT’ in schools in Republican jurisdictions and assorted laws aimed at voter repression.

CRT not taught in schools in the USA? Are you kidding? The indoctrination of children began more than 2 years ago in many US states. Its not only divisive, but completely illegal and done without parents permission. Also it has only made racial tensions worse over the last year, they have evidence now from federal studies. Teens who go through CRT and believe it are more likely to commit racial violence. CRT is intellectually fraudulent too.
CRT is the name of a course being taught in a few law schools. I have no idea what you think you’re on about.
