Give The Ref A Jersey

at

Last night/this afternoon.

Who’s the ilegitimo in the yellow?

Slovenian referee Matej Jug, who officiated last night’s match between Portugal and the Republic of Ireland, has come under scrutiny for his lenient approach to Christian Ronaldo’s misdemeanours during the game, which included slapping Irish defender Dara O’Shea (top) like he was his cadela.

Irish fans think Ronaldo should’ve been sent off for ‘slap’ on defender (Joe)

the only thing about the slap was how O’Shea went rolling about like he’d shipped a punch from Mike Tyson, I hate that nonsense

the hometown ref did seem starstruck over CR7 without a doubt

also cannot understand how Connolly didn’t get a blatant penalty 0-2 would have been the right score at that point

No better man than Ronaldo to roll around and whinge. He’s been a legend at doing that over the years.

The ref smiling at Ronaldo was occasionally etc was incredibly unprofessional behaviour and pure wrong. Like Hamann, I have no idea where the extra extra time came from and it almost seemed like the ref was waiting to give Ronaldo his moment in his watch. Having said all that, a game demands concentration from start to finish and we didn’t do that. Kendrick was awful and Connolly was like a headless chicken.

it’s time all that diving nonsense stopped.

o shea should have given Ronaldo the ol 1 2 uniflu.

they were always gonna lose anyway. I see no harm in getting sent off for rattling his jaw with a box
