If I Can Make It There

at

Taoiseach Micheál Martin with Junk Kouture’s Lauren Kennedy (wearing a design named “Attire”) and CEO and founder of Junk Kouture, Troy Armour

Last night.

New York, New York, USA.

A range of organisations attended the event from sectors including immigration, culture, business, education and the GAA.

During the meeting, Mr Martin praised the groups for their response to the Covid-19 crisis.

In the early stages of the pandemic, the Aisling Irish Community Center, Emerald Isle Immigration Center, New York Irish Center, New York GAA and the United Irish Counties Association of New York partnered to establish the Sláinte 2020 programme to provide financial assistance for Irish citizens in need.

The project was supported by the Irish Government and the main beneficiaries were undocumented Irish people working in the hospitality and construction sectors who were unable to claim state or federal supports.

You’re so bitter. Is it that you feel unwelcome/unwanted by Ireland that you find yourself lashing out at other Irish/wannabe Irish people?

oh just a representative from one Irelands longest and great friendships.

-Last year, the Irish people raised nearly $2 million dollars for the Navajo and Hopi Nations so they could protect themselves from the pandemic. At the time, the infection rate in the Navajo community – 2,304 cases per 100,000 — was the highest in the country and nearly 40% higher than even the epicenter of New York City.-

It was a show of thanks to Native Americans for a $170 gift sent by the Choctaw to the Irish people at the height of the potato famine in 1847.

    Err…. where are the masks?

Its not like me to be advocating such but in the case of Mehole, I will make the exception.

    1. johnny

…the irish govt in a baller move, did a large block buy via smurfit and cornered the masks market for Ireland, you will have them in Spring…..so we now have none in NY,Martin was in NY executing the big masks deal, the guy in pic was the broker.

Important people don’t have to wear them for photoshoots.

They only need to wear them when they’re already 2 mtrs apart.

Like Joe and Boris the other day

      https://twitter.com/CryptoFreres/status/1440997820102811650?s=20

If it’s a photo you can hug and stand on top of each other. Covid knows to stay away.

But of course when it comes to the plebs, it very important we wear them outside while picking up our kids from school.

Even though we’re literally picking up a teeny tiny human Petri dish that’s just been playing with 29 other little human Petri dishes for the past 5 hours. The same Petri dishes will go home to their parents with the germs from my kid all over them and vice versa, but when the exact same parents are outside we have to pretend that we’re not already sharing each other germs every single day and that we’re keeping each other safe.

      Yay..ummm… science? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
