One Vax To Kill Them All

The Emerging Infectious Disease branch of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research

THis afternoon.

Via military minded mag Defense One

Within weeks, scientists at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research expect to announce that they have developed a vaccine that is effective against COVID-19 and all its variants, even Omicron, as well as from previous SARS-origin viruses that have killed millions of people worldwide.

The achievement is the result of almost two years of work on the virus. The Army lab received its first DNA sequencing of the COVID-19 virus in early 2020. Very early on, Walter Reed’s infectious diseases branch decided to focus on making a vaccine that would work against not just the existing strain but all of its potential variants as well.

Unlike existing vaccines, Walter Reed’s SpFN uses a soccer ball-shaped protein with 24 faces for its vaccine, which allows scientists to attach the spikes of multiple coronavirus strains on different faces of the protein.

      Exactly
Maybe the release of COVID was to see how effective it was
I would say the military are very happy

I for one welcome our new soccer ball protein shake. May its reign be glorious.

Doubt it is as good as the Five Guys peanut butter shake but it is only right to keep an open mind about these things.

Wil it be patent-free, finally allowing the rest of the world to get their hands on an effective vaccine?

  3. Frank

….and with that the world was saved and everyone just got on
because we agreed that while we can’t all be sound all the time… sometimes, just sometimes,
if you wish hard enough and all the stars align… your wishes just might come through.
God bless you Walter Reed. Whoever you are!!
MAY GOD BLESS US EACH AND EVERYONE….

      wouldn’t that be nice,
      people’s générosité of spirit returns,
authoritarian polarised doses return to their miserable lairs,
children’s anxiety fades as they forget the invisible enemy and fear of killing granny,
your friends husband/ wife goes back to the office and divorce is no longer on the cards,
you hug/ bang/ lick/ squeeze anyone who’s up for it,
you smile at strangers in the supermarket,
old people regain confidence and maybe lust maybe get some kind of joy before the pop it knowing their children’s future isn’t a sterile miserable plod, while they have the craic at the whist club.

        1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

that’s one of the joys of living like Voltaire’s Dr.Pangloss assuming we are living in the best possible of universe
          ( it’s Nuxe in case you’re wondering ;))

Well that’s really promising, you’d wonder why the combined might of some of the most powerful pharma companies couldn’t have got this result.

      1. Gavin

Yeah possibly, or they were so focused on profit and not the cure that they went of on the wrong path. Im sure they had access to the variants at the same time as the military

More than half of Covid ICU admissions unvaccinated.

The median age of the unvaccinated patients who had contracted Covid and were admitted to hospital between July and November was 38 years.

The median age for vaccinated patients was 66.

And for the “eastern europeans are anti-authoritarian and don’t listen to RTE” crowd: “Of those admitted to ICU who contracted the virus between July and November and who were not born in Ireland, 84% reported being unvaccinated, compared to 41 for those born in the state.”

          2. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

I can confirm that none of my Polish neighborhood is vaccinated, they tell me ” Janet I am sorry , Irish people are stupid.”

          3. 1-2-1-2

Just over half (53 per cent) of Covid-19 patients in hospital at present are not fully vaccinated, while 54 per cent of patients in ICU are unvaccinated.

Unvaccinated cases were two times more likely to be hospitalised, in the period mid-November to mid-December, according to data presented to the briefing. Meanwhile, fully vaccinated cases were four times less likely to be admitted to ICU.

          1. Gavin

I don’t get you, surely when the variants emerged everyone doing any type of research had access to the data. I know the Pharma industry had already started but nothing to stop them from looking at the new data as it arose, the same way the military did….or am I missing something?

            The Pfizer vaccine (BNT162b1) went into Phase 1 trials in May 2020; Pre-Omicron; Pre-Delta;

That is the same vaccine ingredients/compounds as we get in boosters today.

If Pfizer were to change the vaccine based on new variants, they would need to start the whole testing from scratch. And then the whole FDA/EMA approval process.

          3. Gavin

Ok think I get that, so basically it’s a large machine moving forward and to change approach midstream just isn’t an option.

loads of people I know who were the most outgoing, risk taking, hedonistic, fun loving, bon vivant, dynamique, tough fupps ( somehow I attract a type lol) are experiencing anxiety or stress when they never would have before.

        1. Janet, dreams of sleep

they aren’t Irish Bon Vivant, where to be honest I’d agree with you…I didn’t mean drunk.

I have said more mean things on here this year than all my other years commenting put together. I’d like to apologize.
I could make excuses but I’d be a hypocrite for forgetting myself that it’s a hard time for everyone.
I’d like to wish everyone a better new year and holiday season.

Its been a tough year for all of us. Here’s to a kinder 2022 (and remainder of 2021)

I saw this on Twitter, it applies to all social media:
            Ways you can improve Twitter:
            – Say “I don’t know” if you don’t know
            – Admit mistakes
            – Practice becoming aware of personal biases
            – Approach topics with humility
            – Challenge beliefs when presented with new evidence
            – Respect expertise
            – Assert boundaries
            – Be kind

Ah ok sorry didn’t mean to come across rude. I think it’s very hard to remain sanguine in the present climate – you had your running – I took to taking long daytime walks and it made a huge difference

      1. Chris

It’s been close to two years of terrorism, enacted by various bodies. They’re ‘renegotiating’ the social contract, or in more honest terms, holding us captive, demoralizing us & forcing the changes through.

There’s really no going back to the old ‘normal’. More and more are sensing the source of the malaise. Its quite the conundrum, I’d imagine a lot will continue to go along with things, in the hope of eking out partial ‘freedom’. The alternative doesn’t have a lot to offer at present, apart from a truthful evaluation of where we all stand.

If a vaccine against Coronaviruses was a scientific possibility, it would have appeared some time ago, given that they cause more Common Colds than any other family of viruses.
This one seems to venture down the 1980’s cul de sac of Spike Proteins again & will therefore be far deadlier than the current crop of toxic disasters & just as ineffective. There’ll always be problems when the suggested cure involves delivering the most damaging element of the disease into healthy people. I reckon the current injections will have piled up the dead, injured & sterile to such an extent that this one will prove excess to requirements.
The New Normal Fascists have done a fine job.

    1. Chris

The CCP maintains it was developed at Fort Derrick (USA). I doubt the truth of the matter will be revealed.

    2. GiggidyGoo

No, no, no. This virus came from bats and bat lickers. In a market. In wuhan. Just around the corner from the laboratory.

  6. GiggidyGoo

The new army vaccine will be ‘offered’ to the over 70’s initially and will be administered in the Glen Of Imaal. There will be free admission to the glen for the duration of the Latin alphabet.
