Ghislaine Maxwell looks well. She can really rock those shorter hairstyles. I bet it becomes a trend, though I feel she might aim to cut for something shorter herself.

Coke drivers caught by Na Gardaí has trebled in 2 years? – opiates, alcohol detections, similar(ish) over the same period. During the various lock-downs, fewer vehicles on the road – people were willing to take a chance? Bored/tenacious Gardaí patrols?

Tough news about Sinead O’Connor’s son.
Spare a thought for his dad Donal Lunny too.
    RIP Shane.

Show some respect for a mother by keeping your gob shut.

Today (or any other) is not the day for demonstrating your contrived offensiveness by using a grieving mother’s situation and how it’s reported elsewhere. Fupptard.

            RIP

          2. TenPin Terry

This news is being reported extensively including the Twitter comments from O’Connor.
I’m merely pointing out that the good folk on the Examiner were asleep over their cornflakes this morning.
The Irish Times will eventually wake up too.

It’s astonishing how Bodger was able to keep you at heel for well over 6 months but yet your worst impulses are here for all to see in this thread, as soon as you get an iota of freedom at all to spout such bilge.

        1. Papi

He most certainly is. How did he get unbanned?
Bodger? Seems a reasonable question since he came back with full racist bigoted arseholery.

    ….reality bites.
“We were climbing very well,” said John Fitzpatrick, owner of Fitzpatrick Manhattan in midtown. “We were coming back up to the 80-95 [occupancy rate].”

Fitzpatrick said reservations at his hotel dropped by about 25% by the end of December.

“It’s worrying, absolutely. Are we disappointed? Yes. We thought we were getting on a positive note, but I’m truthfully, very disappointed,” he said.“

Some good math on NY hotels, the entire sector is in distress,I’m not sure how many are closed, midtown / grand central area has been hit very hard,it’s base is tourism and bridge, tunnel.

NY is a tough town, best and the brightest and only the fit and strong survive, let’s all hope he’s liquid and low leverage, cause otherwise FFG will have find a new inn keeper.

Check out what Schwab says about the future of hospitality in his book Covid-19 The Great Reset. Most bars, restaurants and similar are goners.

      1. Reasonable Commenter

Thank God. Most of them are just money laundering exercises anyway, especially in NYC…

No-one ever knows the full story of suicide – it appears to be? My personal interest, Shayna was taught how to swim by my Great aunt in Bray. (She was a nun, in Stiillorgan, Shayna was 4). It’s entirely tragic.

NHS doctor tells Health Secretary he won’t get jabbed

A Consultant Anaesthetist has told Sajid Javid that he will not get vaccinated against COVID and is unhappy at the mandatory requirement.

Steve James told the Health Secretary that his ‘natural immunity’ after contracting coronavirus was far superior to any booster.

    1. Micko

      Wow.

      Brave guy.

I love how when Javid asks for “other opinions” to back him up, he’s only met with silence.

    2. Nigel

What I ‘like’ most about stories like this is that it certainly seems like a reasonable argument to make, assuming there are studies and data to back it up, but there’s a concession involved that if people like this have a good argument for an exemption, it implies an acceptance of vaccine workplacer mandates and vaccine requirements in public places.

      1. SOQ

Posting a clip of an NHS Consultant Anaesthetist giving his opinion to the British Health Minister is anti science garbage now is it?

If these experimental gene therapies work so well then why do people need to be injected with them once a month? That is not a vaccine, that is medication.

      2. Verbatim

Looking at that graph, all I see is murder! People need not have died from Covid, medicines that could have helped in the early stages were not prescribed, and even forbidden to be prescribed.
It’s a shocking thing that people like you fire this off as an offensive weapon.

Bosnia become first country in Europe without COVID pass! Mirnes Ajanović defeated Bosnian Federal government

Mirnes Ajanović succeeded in applying the BiH Constitution, laws and criminal charges, concrete evidence that vaccinated people transmit the virus as well as unvaccinated ones, and that it is absurd to introduce a code certificate – to force the FBiH government to withdraw the decree. and for the cantons to give up the introduction of totalitarianism and discrimination against citizens.

Desperate times when you jubilantly hold up Bosnia as an example of how to proceed in a pandemic.

      1. SOQ

Would you prefer I used England as an example instead? I am just reporting the story because it is important. Bosnia may be the first to have their sorry asses hauled into court, but you can be certain they will not be the last.

        1. Nigel

Did India execute anyone for questioning the efficacy of Ivermectin yet? You were pretty excited about that.

          1. Nigel

Was there a personal insult in my comment? I don’t think so. Still, you’re famous on here for hating personal insults. Almost as much as you seem to hate astonishingly repressive government actions.

    2. Nigel

Unvaccinated-By-Choicers here get mad when it’s suggested that people like them are prolonging the pandemic, and while they might have a point in Ireland, since they’re such a small cohort, people who deliberately set out to stop pandemic measures like this, and in the States, are definitely going to either prolong it or make it way worse than it has to be while it lasts, and when Unvaccinated-By-Choicers express supprt for actions like this, they can share some of the responsibility. Of course, governments are already prolonging it/making it worse by not being more decisive and comeptent about their pandemic measures, but this kind of deliberate, reckless sabotage contributes.

      1. Chris

I don’t “get mad” at your suggestion, because it’s trolling nonsense, unsubstantiated by any facts.

      2. E'Matty

“when it’s suggested that people like them are prolonging the pandemic”. Perhaps because there is no basis whatsoever for that ridiculously propagandistic claim.

      3. hmmm

People who decline to participate in the trial of an experimental gene therapy are to blame for the failure of that experimental gene therapy.

Imagine a Vaccine so effective you had to change the definition of vaccine just so you could legally call it a vaccine?

            Worst pandemic Ever!!

          2. hmmm

Imagine changing the meaning of something in order to cover up reduced effectiveness and then lying about it.

            Worst Pandemic Ever!!

          3. Nigel

Except it is effective, and ‘changing the meaning’ has nothing to do with its effectiveness, or even is perceived effectivenes, or its argued effectiveness. Is this like that excess death figure farce? Where it turns out you’re being abysmally stupid about something you think is clever?

          4. hmmm

Imagine a vaccine that does not provide immunity.

Imagine it being so safe and effective that its manufacturers have no legal liability for any harm it may cause.

            Worst Pandemic Ever!!

          5. hmmm

Imagine being so confident in the deadly seriousness of the “virus” that you refuse to release the excess mortality figures.

            Worst Pandemic ever.

‘Imagine a vaccine that does not provide immunity.’

Imagine living in western capitalist society and being shocked by this.

‘Imagine being so confident in the deadly seriousness of the “virus” that you refuse to release the excess mortality figures.’

            Imagine moving those goalposts.

            ‘Worst Pandemic ever.’

Imagine this bargain basement attampt at a psyop catchphrase scraped out of some internet hole full of incels and bots.

Imagine being so lost deep inside the cult that you reject actual facts in favour of shrilling false narratives and vacuous ‘concern’.

            Worst Pandemic Ever!!

I haven’t rejected a single fact. I think the cult-like shill in this conversation is the one who’s chanting a mantra over and over again.

          11. Nigel

Other people just aren’t real to you, i guess, and people who die from covid or with it if you prefer, even less real, and people who don’t get a severe dose and don’t die because they’re vaccinated even less real still, because if they were real you’d be wrong and you can’t be wrong. All the other shi tlords in your catch-phrase-generating internet hole agree!

          12. hmmm

You sound a bit rattled there Nigel.

Imagine you providing us actual evidence to substantiate any of your many outrageous and extraordinary claims.

            Imagine facts, not gaslighting.

Then imagine getting a good nights sleep where you didn’t have to soothe you conscience for all the nonsense you insist the rest of the world must now submit to.

Imagine a head clear of the lies.

          13. Nigel

You don’t accept evidence that disagrees with your views, so not much point, is there? Then when you provide evidence yourself it hilariously says the opposite of what you claim.

That the pandemic is fake is an extraordinary claim needing extraordinary proof, as do other extraordinary claims such as the Jan 6th riot was an FBI op, Trump won, Clinton ordered enslaved children froma pizza parlour, Sandy Hook was faked, and so was the moon landing. Us normies have higher standards than you.

          14. hmmm

The burden of proof of the pandemic is yours Nigel.

Show us all the dead people.

Imagine claiming “Pandemic for nearly two years and providing no evidence for it and insisting that any one who asks for evidence is crazy.

            Imagine being Nigel/

          15. Nigel

‘The burden of proof of the pandemic is yours Nigel.’

It really, really isn’t. I mean the figures are all there. Easy to claim the pandemic is fake when you simply refuse to accept any figures that show it’s real. You’re in the tiny minority there, except in the US, where you’re in agreement with Trump’s base, but still a minority though.

The burden of proving the pandemic is fake is on you.

After FDA says it can release COVID-19 vaccine data by 2097, federal judge orders all info to be shared this year

The Food and Drug Administration was told that it can’t take 75 years to release COVID-19 vaccine data. On Thursday, a federal judge in Texas ordered the FDA to greatly increase the number of documents it releases each month that pertain to the agency’s approval process for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

      It’s a difficult one.
O’Connor has her own self-documented mental health problems which include suicide attempts, drug and alcohol abuse,self-mutilation and sparking a big police hunt in the States by going missing.

‘2021 is the 25th year in a row in which Greenland’s Ice Sheet lost more mass during the course of the melting season than it gained during the winter. The early part of the summer was cold and wet with unusually heavy and late snowfall in June, which delayed the onset of the melting season, whilst a heatwave at the end of July led to a considerable loss of ice.’

School students refuse to wear face masks in class or take tests

Damien McNulty, a national executive member of the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT), said around five percent of pupils in one school agreed to take a test and wear a mask.

He told the BBC: “Sadly, we have had reports in the last 24 hours of at least six secondary schools in the north-west of England where children, in huge numbers, are refusing to take lateral flow tests or to wear masks.

On the contrary. It looks like the end is approaching. True infection numbers are much higher than official test results, but hospital & ICU numbers are not significantly increasing.

      1. TenPin Terry

        This is correct.
I would put the peak here 2-3 weeks behind England which is now over the worst of Omicron although it was far milder than many expected, particularly the doom-mongers at SAGE.Indeed in some hospitals underused ICU staff are being put to work in other wards.
Ironically in Scotland and Wales where more onerous Covid restrictions than in England have been in place for months the infections rates are worse.
Any sensible politician here will be extending hospitality hours back to normal as they have done with abandoning the testing needed to enter the country.
        The denouement approaches …

Augurs well for the rest of 2022. Every single post on any subject ends up as a sewer of comments from the same 5 or 6 people pumped up on COVID and BREXIT, punctuated by their infantile pantomime squeaks of “He’s Charger!”, “No, he’s Charger!”, No, he’s Charger!”, “Bodger, Charger’s back!”, ……

    Pathetic.

We all know how this ends up. What a miserable demise of Broadsheet by 2023.
