A boycott by 5% of potential customer’s will be stinging .

I’ll spend that little be more to ease that pain for them

        1. K.Cavan

Sorry to break it to you, Joan but you’ll be paying quite a bit more than 5% anyway but knock yourself out.

    1. Gavin

Im allowed in and boycotting…its stunning how people continually assume this is a simple black and white issue.

      1. SOQ

Because it suits their lazy mindsets- all those who were bullied or coerced into taking those injections must have had a personality transplant- maybe there is something in them after all?

        1. Kim The Cardassian

You again. Can you produce peer reviewed evidence that Irish people were bullied or coerced into getting vaccinated, or are lazy?

          1. SOQ

Me again yes- isn’t it wonderful?

Banning people from all social activity without- as below- any empirical scientific evidence that passports reduce spread, is coercion.

Threatening people with losing their jobs if they don’t take an experimental gene therapy with no long term safety data, is bullying- and also illegal.

Either way, if passports are so popular then make it voluntary and then let’s see which businesses do well, and which do not.

          2. K.Cavan

            “peer reviewed evidence”, brilliant!
            You’re all about The Science, Kim, aren’t you? I do like a Malpropism & that’s a zinger.

    2. E'Matty

Except, those of us with passes post infection can enter these premises. I’ve enjoyed eating and drinking inside the past two weeks despite no vaccination at all.

  1. No more Maura

Maddening and mind boggling that both these tweets have absolutely zero reach. When the heck are the Irish people going to wake up to this tyranny, get sharing ffs. These passes are for nothing else but division, they do nothing for the spread of the ‘virus’. Rubbish stuff.

    1. Kim The Cardassian

Anonymous accounts on twitter. Thats activism at its best. Who are these people? Who is funding them? What is their real agenda? Do you know?

      1. Doxxy Chainsaw

Astroturf rightwing campaigns, latching on to a societal issue to hoover up more thick malcontents squawking about der freedumbs.

    2. K.Cavan

Yes, Maura, but a lot of the less intelligent kids in the class have been waiting their whole lives to feel superior to someone, anyone.

  2. Zaccone

I would hope they submitted some sort of actual FOI request. And not that they think they can just namedrop it on Twitter…

    1. SOQ

Personally I think they are going to have to be forced into court to justify it, which they can’t, because there is no empirical scientific evidence to support it.

The reason for Vaccine Passports was coercion and that became very obvious when they set a deadline for nightclubs- meaning young people- which they promptly closed a month later.

That was planned in advance but now that you will need three stabs for your (temporary) “freedom”- it is going be a lot harder to convince people this time around. Especially as so many people have already had it.

      1. E'Matty

Both the claim of EP going ahead with vaccine passes (before being cancelled again after many got vaccinated) and the nightclubs opening only briefly appear to have been deceitful tactics to induce and coerce the young into getting vaccinated before they then pulled the very thing those young people wished to attend. Today, its this summers travel they are seeking to use yo coerce the young to get their useless Wuhan variant boosters.

  3. RuilleBuille

Good news. Now the community minded vaccinated can enjoy a night out without the selfish anti-scientists present.

    1. SOQ

Community minded THREE JABBED vaccinated- otherwise you are outside the window looking in, with the rest.

I wonder have they a schedule for the fourth yet? Depends on how many gullibles there is lining up for the third I suppose.

          1. SOQ

No it is not- it’s definitely coming soon. And when it does, there will be a sizable section of people who get flipped.

        1. K.Cavan

Ah, wearnicehats, it hasn’t yet dawned on you that there’s no such thing as “fully vaccinated”. Bless.

      1. K.Cavan

I don’t imagine they’ll delay any of the boosters, SOQ, you can’t have some sheep waiting around, their “immunity” waning, while the tardy ones make their way to the sheep dip. They’ll just keep shouting “hup!” at them.
Plenty of intelligent people fell for the “just two jabs” scam but you’d have to be very special to go along with “boosters til you die”.

    2. K.Cavan

I thought “peer reviewed evidence” was brilliant but “anti-scientists” is nearly as good. It’s so entertaining reading this semi-literate stuff.

  4. ANO

That boycott account has 9 (nine) followers, how does Broadsheet find these guys ?

Should we take Broadsheet advertising their boycott as an endorsement of whoever these people are ?

Hard to see the passports being around post (or even by) summer if Covid continues to mutate as if has but people are free to boycott wherever they want. In this instance I’ll be sticking to cosy pints and nomy nosh though.

    1. E'Matty

Fancy a small wager on whether the passes will still be here come the summer? They’ve duped enough into accepting them already. They’re hardly going to lose all that ground willingly now. The pass is an objective in and of itself, not a solution.

        1. bisted

…Mattie seems to know all about duping…in fact…all the Broadsheet ratlickers seem to be inside drinking pints…

          1. E'Matty

Why wouldn’t I? You do realise we get a pass post infection too? You didn’t get the vaxx to drink inside did you, lol?

          2. bisted

…I love pints and pubs…I go to the pub everyday since they reopened…however, I’d probably go well down my list of reasons why I took the vaccine before being able to go to the pub would feature…

          3. Verbatim

Bisted, I’d sure love to have a look at your list, just to get to know you better, see if we are a match.
I’ll exchange it for my list on why I’m not going to get vaccinated.
I’ve been to the pub a few times without producing vaccine ID, (they did ask for age ID though) then the pub got petrol bombed so I can’t go back for a bit.

  5. wearnicehats

    Stolen from Twitter

IKEA: We don’t want anti/unvaccinated people in our stores

    Anti-vaxxers: #BOYCOTTIKEA

    IKEA: Well that was easy

      1. wearnicehats

        absolutely.

I’d say that the people happiest with them are the ones you used to talk at in the pub

    1. K.Cavan

Just don’t mention the fact that the founder of Ikea was a Nazi. I just did but I think I got away with it.
