  1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

    young enough by today’s standards,
I hope his soul is singing somewhere,
    rest in peace.

  2. Andy Pipkin

I was lucky enough too see him twice, would be in my top ten of live gigs I have seen, absolutely brilliant!.

RIP and thanks for the memories!!!

I never got to see him, but a friend told me a story about one of his shows. Said that just before the show started Mr Loaf came out disguised as a roadie sweeping the stage or whatever and no one in the audience copped it.

He then did a big reveal as the lights went down.

A great man for the theatrics.

    RIP Marvin Lee Aday.
he had some set of pipes, in fairness.
might be an idea for today’s competition; songs featuring heaven or hell. assuming of course that it hasn’t been done before.

  4. TenPin Terry

Met him a couple of times.
Eye-watering vice-like grip of a handshake with a twinkle in his eye and a laugh that rumbled up deep from a belly that actually didn’t look that big in real life in his later years.
    Lovely thoughtful man.
Hope he’s in eternal paradise by the dashboard light.

if you’d listen to the song, he tells you EXACTLY what he won’t do for love.
      but that’s you all over.

  5. V aka Frilly Keane

Big fan of all things Frilly
    In fairness

Yes I did have the LP, probably a Confirmation present
‘might even be up in the attic

But his duet with Cher would for sure be on my 100 playlist
Definitely gets me joining in anyway

I have this mad memory of seeing him in the Highland in Newmarket
Otis Blue? Could that be right?
    Late 80s

Or maybe one of the Wheelies festivals?
