Long Strange Trip

at

Last night.

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

The last big rigs were towed Sunday out of Canada’s capital, where the streets were quiet for the first time in almost a month after a massive police operation ended a drawn-out siege by protesters opposing Covid health rules

A major clean-up was underway in Ottawa‘s snowy downtown, where police in riot gear had faced off with trucker-led demonstrators for two full days, finally driving them out of their protest hub outside parliament.

The big rigs were not ‘towed’, they drove themselves after a collective decision was made to do so.

Then again, given the state violence they are deliberately ignoring on the streets of Paris, France 24 is hardly going to start doing their job somewhere else.

      1. SOQ

Do they make self packing up of stalls too? Propaganda.

The French, like the US, are bracing themselves for similar.

Yeah when I think of right wing trump supporting Truckers in Ottawa, honking their horns over size issues,I immediately associate that picture with a bunch of hippies,at a now legendary music festival in up state New York.

In fairness, if ever there was a walking, ” typing ” example of why not to indulge…it’s you.

          2. Johnny

If ever there was a self loathing irish woman, tell us again why you hate Ireland and how amazing Paris is,as a real estate agent.

          3. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

actually I love it, I love it with it’s flaws, it doesn’t mean I can’t see them or want better for my country and compatriots, I know that’s too subtle for you, anyway as you love to scream YOU’RE not even Irish my Canadian friend.
I only refer and compare to Paris because I spent my adult life there so it’s a natural reference for good and bad.
For example I often laud how much safer for ladies it is here or how skills transference is encouraged in the work place.

          4. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

I also love me, no self loathing there, I don’t need to artificially escape reality on a regular basis to get through the day….maybe you should think about why you do

See how the addict turns to spewing vile hatred when you dare question his addiction

I’ve a great life waiting for me in D4 and probably Kinsale,I think Ireland is amazing, however,I grow weed on a industrial scale across multiple states.

Just inked a deal to be the grow team for a tea company launching infused iced teas, with our CBD and THC in NY.

When I can do that in Ireland I’m coming home,I miss it a lot,

It’s bank holiday in states,so yes of course I’m listening music reading and smoking,by the game standards I’m a lightweight, more into health, wellness and fitness than getting baked.

It’s a bit like owning a bar,the crews that over smoke get left behind,or bar owners drinking all day is just not a good look.

      1. Johnny

I was referring to the thousands us truckers.

The legacy media and RTE, did a new black out on them which is why I’m surprised at you Chris.

        I believe SOQ.

At least they were only shot at point blank range by rubber bullets and trampled with horses – seems kind of quaint compared with Australia where they have started using directed energy beam weapons on anti-mandate protesters – see freewestmedia . com for details. They feel like boiling water poured on the skin and cause blisters to match.

    1. SOQ

Jail for what? A change of ‘mischief’? Hardly.

And, most of those “arrested” weren’t even. They were merely apprehended then left outside the zone. Even some of those who were actually arrested did not have their rights read out, which means if such ever get to court, they will be thrown out. The truckers were well briefed on their legal rights- better than some of the police it appears.

But, given the amount of ‘police’ without badge numbers displayed, who refused to give their names or even speak at all, questions are being asked about who they really are. That is absolute dynamite if it can be proved they are not Canadian police officers.

The yanks had kindly offered to assist with reopening the peace bridge, the Canadians in fairness tried hugs, but it’s most likely the feds were there to take care the thousands us truckers who attended, but like you pointed out, main stream news blackout.
        I believe SOQ.

        1. SOQ

As you well know, I reported the rumour then questioned if it was true- but sure don’t let that get in your way of trying to get your juvenile digs in eh?

          1. Doxxy Chainsaw

Most of the rubbish you peddle is rumour. You desperately want to believe any aul bit of antivaxx/lockdown drivel you come across and can’t wait to post it as TRUFAX!! Now that it’s all coming to an expected end, you’re getting more angry and desperate.

I’m sure you’ll find some other stupid astroturf cause to latch on to soon enough.

          2. SOQ

Daisy Chainsaw accusing others of posting rubbish- oh the irony.

Darlin- you spend your time here trying to insult and goad and belittle anyone who doesn’t agree with you in an to attempt to make yourself relevant.

You are not- you don’t have a clue as to what is really going on.

          3. Johnny

But you do,SOQ,stay woke, keep up ALL the posting, your news is the best thing ever happened ‘sheet,I log in for your insiders take on Canada/NY/US,from where again………

(Have you never been arrested ,hate break it you,but it never goes down like this)

… Even some of those who were actually arrested did not have their rights read out, which means if such ever get to court, they will be thrown out…

            But I still believe SOQ.

I expect that the comparisons being made between what is happening in Canada and the sixties is upsetting some of the left wing and the hippies now that they have turned game keepers, but the similarities are quite striking.

Both were peace loving protests pushing back against authoritarian regimes.

What happens once it kicks off in the US is another story mind, because the US really is two tribes country.

    1. Johnny

Fairplay you totally have your finger on the pulse of us politics, espically in the democratic states neighboring the Canadian border.

I’m not venturing north 14th street,it’s basically Canada above 23rd.

      I believe SOQ.

It’s almost impossible have been in both Ottawa the Canadian federal capital, and Woodstock Nation in up state New York, surrounded by communes, yoga retreats, hemp and weed farmers…to even contemplate a comparison, despite you never have been to either,I believe you SOQ:)

The joyous, quirky nature of these singularly life-affirming protests made me as proud of Canadians as Trudeau’s last electoral hammering. They’ve been a ray of light after two years of darkness when the shadow of totalitarianism fell across our world again & humanity saw the future battle-lines drawn. Those of us who are intelligent, caring, decent people have been shaken & dismayed by the realisation that our political class & a large swathe of our fellow-citizens aren’t.
You could see why most Canadians rejected the dim-witted authoritarianism of this globalist sock-puppet, the strikingly blank, empty-headed stare of this Stepford Wife of a politician, who’s become a litmus test for human decency. All who believe in love, hope & happiness find themselves repulsed by him, yet, even as he dragged Canada’s reputation into the gutter, down into the same neo-fascist filth that now covers Australia & New Zealand, the truckers played tug-of-war with the country’s reputation, hopefully convincing the world of the reality that Canadians still are what Irish people used to be, some of the nicest, most decent people you could ever hope to meet.
Thank you, Truckers, you have delivered a most precious cargo, Hope.

    1. Johnny

….do you have an agent,I’ve a few contacts in LA,was the ‘sheet really your first time on the Telly?
Was Hope Hicks there,FFS the god damn Main Street media blacked her out here.
