Supporters from the Ukraine community joined by some Irish and German people held a demonstration outside the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany calling for the EU to accelerate the process for Ukraine to join the European Union.

Ukraine would not have met the criteria for admission before this, nothing had changed.
They say “tragic cases make bad law”, similar sentiment applies here. Admitting Ukraine to EU and bypassing usual criteria and procedures as an emotive knee-jerk response to the current tragedy will not end well.
