Via RTÉ News:

The European Medicines Agency said the new drug – Wegovy – has been approved for patient use in all EU countries, for adults with obesity who have at least one weight-related health issue.

The drug is administered through a weekly injections. Clinical trials found that Wegovy was found to affect weight loss of 17% in patients who took it every week for a year.

However, the weight loss was only sustained if the drug is continued long-term.

    What is the mechanism for action, surely you’d still need to reduce your calories and move a bit as well as just injecting it?

    I have a bit a beer gut the last while and it’s quite obvious what will shift it – less beer, more walking.

    joking aside, I assume this is for the morbidly ill with their weight and so can only be a good thing, I can’t imagine it makes you feel great

      This is what I would think as well. I’d imagine those who are in need of a medical procedure but need to lose weight first or something like that maybe?
