Reducing the risk of hospitalisation and death – something they have done very effectively.

To protect you against the worst of you get the virus nothing more
The masks are to reduce the risk of getting infected

Professor Cliona Ní Cheallaigh said if people do not want to get Covid-19 they should wear a facemask?
But facemasks are to stop the wearer from spreading it. They far from guarantee that a wearer can’t get it.

That’s the usual Luke O Neill type bull……..

Here’s how history has already recorded Luke O’Neill’s pronouncements. Kelly’s pronouncement above can be added.

    – He stated ‘Vaccinations are stopping transmission.’ (No they’re not)
    – ‘When vaccination reaches a high level ‘the virus goes away’ ‘ (No it doesn’t)
    – ‘We can prevent Covid through vaccination’ (No you can’t)
    – ‘All of the vaccines, including AstraZeneca, will prevent you getting sick and ending up in hospital.’ (No they won’t)

Coronaviruses are covered in a layer of Lipid fat & unlike Rhinoviruses, the most common Summer cold, they are not evolved to float in the air. Most Coronavirus infections do not happen through inhalation but by being picked up from surfaces, where their fat layer allows them to survive for quite a while & the most common entry point is the mucus membrane in the eye, via our fingers.
An infected person, normally, will have had to sneeze or, more likely, cough on that surface first. Wearing a mask will mean the fingers are up & about the face more often, so wearing a mask is likely to increase your chances of infection.
In public, door handles, hand grips on buses & trains, lift buttons & cash machine keyboards will probably account for most infections, although the majority will still occur in the home.
Looking at her areas of specialty, I wouldn’t rate Ní Cheallaigh as more of an expert in this area than Mallon & the idea of “Covid soup” seems fanciful, at best.
It’s probably Rhinovirus soup out there, with our current weather & with milder variants of Sars02 now predominant, most infections are not actually leading to Covid, which is Pneumonia. PCR, even though the authorities stuck the word test behind it, is not a test & was never used to detect infection in a clinical or public health setting, so rises in “cases”, as detected through the misuse of this technology is mostly irrelevant, just clickbait for the media.
Don’t wear a mask, just wash your hands occasionally & you’ve probably done all you can to avoid infection but once any Coronavirus is out & about, it’s almost impossible to avoid exposing yourself to it, they’re very successful viruses.
Regular Vitamin D3 & daily Vitamin C, getting out in the sunlight for some exercise & a healthy diet are more important than wearing a mask or not.
As Lance-corporal Jones used to say in Dad’s Army, “don’t panic”.

if that was true it wouldnt be so out of control all over the world. its airborne and thats how its getting around.

theres a girl in work and she was coughing wildly for a few days, then was home sick with covid. 5 days later back in work. still clearly very very symptomatic. but doesnt wanna be at home with the kids, so shes following gov. advice which allows her to walk around in here sick as a pig.

my point is the Gov want this to get thru everyone, and people who now have it don’t take it seriously anymore.

Re the pysop: it appears that not supporting Nazis is the new not wearing a mask- that figures.

And still Sweden marches on with one of the lowest rates in Europe. If Andres Tengell got it so why wrong then why has he now got one or the top jobs in WHO?

But sure asking common sense questions like that just makes you a far right Trump supporting communist- that is all the current idiot sneering labels now isn’t it?
