Bleeper is Ireland’s first dockless bike sharing service

On World Bicycle Day, bike sharing service Bleeper has launched a new “Suburban Hub” in Crumlin village.
The Crumlin village suburban hub is the first of its kind in the Dublin City Council area and marks a new approach from Bleeper which aims to bring bike sharing to more areas outside the city centre.
Bleeper has designated a specific area around Crumlin village where its bikes can be parked. This parking zone runs along St. Agnes Road between Crumlin Post Office and Crumlin Garda Station. Bleeper bikes can be parked at any of the 40 public cycle parking spaces within this zone.
Bleeper bikes can move freely outside and between operating zones but journeys can only be ended within a designated Bleeper zone….

I used bleeper a lot from the early days. I got sick of trying to rent a bike that wasn’t there or wouldn’t unlock or when it would unlock the saddle kept lowering or the front brake would be too tight or then you’d get charged extra or there would be a problem locking them and have to email for a refund. The tyres are rock hard and it makes for an arse banging ride.
Don’t want to diss it too much as they are useful and I was a very good customer but I was fined €15 and just gave up on them.
I’d see them being left in odd places where I live, well outside the spaces where they are supposed to be left and treated quite badly. Not surprised that they don’t operate all that well when rented by people using them properly. Sad that the fine fell on those people rather than the people doing the damage.
Almost better off with an absolute beater of a bike that nobody will steal and use the Dublinbikes when in the city.
Time they all had a licence plate so when they cause damage someone held account
I say road tax and insurance as well just like all other road users
Ha- you know you are gay when you look at that picture of the girl on the bike and the first thing you think is – oooh nice trainers.
