I’m drawing a line, I must say,
At National Poetry Day,
‘Cause poems I fear,
Are just a bit queer,
And reading them’s totally gay.

Best one yet!!
I concur. Well done John. Keep it up.
Really?
Reading poetry is now “totally gay”?
holy shmoly….what an uncultured retort.
I seem to remember getting grief for not seeing the ‘joke’ in john moynes editorial about scotland.
This is at least a far more obvious joke.
I don’t get it.
I usually see the joke even where there isn’t one but I honestly don’t see it here.
In my poetry class I learned that homophone and homophobe are homophonic.
Wow…I thought there was going to some link to poetry day and some LGBTQ story or something related…nope…just yer average ubiquitous homophobic slur :(
I think John was trying to be daring and cool and isn’t it ironic loike? John just ended up looking like a twat.
Wow, this is terrible. Time to knock this feature on the head, Broadsheet.
Love it! Well done Mr. Moynes.
Totes appropes!
He’s right. If you didn’t learn Poetry Is Bent at school, that’s your problem. Don’t drag the rest of us down to your philistine level.
Ah yes poetry, a great comfort to me while I decide which utility I cannot afford to pay this month!
Am I missing a deeper level here, or have the limericks actually sunk to the level of “Hurr hurr hurr GAY!”? Seriously, Broadsheet?
John’s limericks are gay.
Moderate that.
All artists are misunderstood sometimes John ;)
