Aston Villa replica home jersey
Claret and blue?
Apparently.
In a survey carried out by sportswear giant Sports Direct, it emerged that almost a quarter (24.46 per cent) of [Aston Villa] shirt sales in the UK and Ireland, took place in Dublin. The next most popular place for buying Villa shorts was London with 18.71 per cent, followed by Birmingham’s 15.834 per cent…
Villa!?
Anyone?
VILLA?
More Aston Villa shirts sold in Dublin than Birmingham, according to study (The Irish Mirror)

Steve Staunton, Andy Townsend, Ray Houghton and Paul McGrath in one glorious team in the early 90s. There you go.
This.
Definitely the third most supported team in Ireland when I was a young ‘un. None of your Arsenals, Chelseas or Manchester Citys in them days.
And Norwich!
And Accrington Stanley !
Tony Cascarino too….
Absolutely.
David O’Leary and Martin O’Neill are former Villa managers
& Birmingham isn’t short on Irish or people with an Irish heritage
There’s a macron outlet store in Birmingham where Villa fans buy the shirts instead of going to Sports Direct
I straight up don’t believe that
The “survey” is limited to one particular retailer so quite misleading
Sports direct usually heavily discount jerseys of crap teams, such as Aston villa. Even recent kits
There’s no Sports Direct in Ireland though, is there?
There’s the similarly branded Direct Sports, but other than being a close brand copy (to my eye at least), there’s no connection between Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct and Direct Sports.
just never be a full kit wa****r
Many among us are more English than the English themselves. If you took talk about their soccer teams, soaps and newspapers out of the average Paddy’s vocabulary he’d be mute. The west Brit is a lot more closer to home than we’d care to admit.
I notice that many Irish people are like that since Sky tv came along.
Are we saying Paddy for Irish people again?
