I heard Eddie Hobbs trying to act the big fella on some news report today, saying they’d sack under-performing public servants, and I had to wonder if he is:
(a) naive, and doesn’t understand how the public sector works (unionised and institutionalised)
or
(b) cynical, and knows the above but says it anyway hoping people like the sound-bite and don’t understand that neither him nor anyone else can change the public service by force
I’m kinda hoping for (a) but fear it may be (b)
