Always a problem with heavy rain in November. The shores in Dublin were already blocked on Sunday afternoon.
I lived awhile in the UK in a low-lying region and the Council workers there would work hard with their rods to keep the drains free from leaves. Judging by last Sunday, this is not a regular maintenance check with DCC.
All the good ones fly south for winter

Its very difficult to keep the drains clear in Ireland… they just don’t know where and when the rain is going to fall and how are they supposed to know when the leaves are going to fall off the trees…
