Members of Renua, including leader Lucinda Creighton (centre), at the party’s General Election 2016 manifesto launch in Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin yesterday

Lucinda thinks tax on your car,
Mercedes, Rolls, or Jaguar,
Should go, but the fool,
Wants to raise tax on fuel,
And Newry is not very far.

A political party that wants voters to hold on to as much of their cash as possible. It pains me to say that such lunacy will never catch on in Ireland.

  2. well, tat's that

ugh, there’s that fellow from Kilkenny in the back. Wonder if he knows his leader’s views of LGBT rights (pre-referendum)?

The flat-tax should definitely be discussed and debated.

Replacing motor tax with a fuel tax sounds good. It incentivises people to drive less without penalising them for having a car in the first place.

But the party is doomed because it only has one real politician in it, who chose to leave her party because she disagreed with it on a social issue, and created a party that is going to ignore all of the difficult social issues.
