He/she has a point though. There’s one or two commenters who constantly take over the threads with ridiculous slagging matches. Someone called “don” something or other springs to mind. It’d be better if people just made their point. It is a pity people feel the need to attack other commenters rather than simply challenge them on the merit of their points. It is off-putting for potential commenters who don’t have the time to spend all day on broadsheet and would rather not get abused for having an alternative view.

Sorry Deluded but “amuse and challenge” is a convenient way of describing what is imho a form of bullying. You are by no means as bad as those who have no other motive on the site but to out hate and out hurt those who simply want to contribute. Humour is used to disguise their prejudices. They know who they are, many of you know who they are, yet they are fed headlines to feed their appetite. I often go away from this site for months on end and return to see the same faceless smartarses taking the same ‘amusing’ digs at the same people. It’s all rather sad. There must be a lot of unhappy souls out there.
