Fun fact: Newton Emerson has the most Protestant sounding name in the world.
Emerson hasn’t been funny for years. And in the last year his sectarian mask is slipping more and more.
I’ve not paid close attention to the north for years but was there really a time that people thought he wasn’t a sectarian bigot? That he was respectable?
I find his shining a light onto the different shades of Unionism to be quite enlightening. I had been in the dark about much of it before reading his pieces.
+1 though I’ve really read less than ten columns but the ones I did were interesting
