          Comparing the average salary with that of a nurse, midwife, fireman or member of AGS.. they are doing quite well .

            Lets assume that those numbers are correct, does that mean they should never receive a pay increase?

            The action was announced after the unions rejected the rail company’s pay offer. Irish Rail officials said they offered rises of 1.75pc for one year. This was to be facilitated by measures including performance management, absenteeism management, revisions to redeployment policy and payroll. However, unions are seeking a 3.75pc increase.

            The rail workers feel that 1.75% is too low and are looking for more. That’s generally how negotiations go.

    I love the way people think all you have to do to drive a train or tram is push a lever. If it’s so easy and so lucrative, why aren’t you all drivers for Iarnrod Eireann?

            Daisy is saying because you dont support the unions wage increases you must be low skilled.

            They do this every time one of these unions starts demanding money and causing disruptions, they insult everyone that doesnt agree.

      because [relatively well-paid] train drivers are causing chaos. Some low-paid workers can’t get into work and will be docked pay.
