The building used to be a bank, but before my time that. Looks like it may have been a cinema at one time to me… but I’m guessing.

Nice building apart from the 80s style glass blocks
…agree…but love the glass…defo an art deco cinema facade. Tim Martin may be an alt right wingnut but most of Whetherspoon restorations have been sympathetic to the original…
‘Spoons – fabulous for folk like me who never really liked pubs (and their extortionate prices).
And the coming one in Camden St will even have bedrooms.
For a quickie, I presume
Actually, was thinking of moving in.
If rock stars can live in the Shelbourne….
Did someone actually say Waterford is rough?? Haha
perfect place for one. waterford is a rough oul spot, a wetherspoons will thrive there.
Hideous building.
A Temple of Mediocre Food & Drink.
Perfect site choice.
Whetherspoon? I kinda hoped they would pee off back to brexitland
The food is meh. OK so that’s expected, but in the UK it’s advertised outside with the faux-digital style cheap prices, 3.50 for a burger or whatever. Here though you’re paying the paddy tax. Over a tenner for most things in the Silver Penny on Abbey St, for example.
Yeah but you can get a pint and a bite to eat for around €12,you cant do that in any other pub in Dublin city centre. Its not Spoons who are expensive, its everywhere else
Ham n cheese toastie and a pint of plain in Grogan’s!
