From top: Today’s Irish Daily Mail; Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly
This morning.
Further pressure heaped on Fianna Fáil Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly’s media performances and general handling of the rona from within his own party.
Somewhere in that building (above) are two women, possibly purple clad, having the absolute giggles.

has any one seen him?
George Lee must be anxiously awaiting the call to arms.
-couriers,you mean mules.
“The Department of Health spent close to €9,000 on couriers to collect and deliver medical cannabis from the Netherlands for dozens of Irish patients, who could not travel abroad during the Covid-19 lockdown, the Irish Examiner has learned.”
This is why you can’t and don’t have nice hospitals and efficient health care, the Minister is now wasting thousands your money on drug mules to import weed-that grows all over Ireland….you don’t need go Harvard,to figure out he’s a mark.
“It is understood that medical cannabis can cost up to €750 per month for patients, many of whom are children with refractive epilepsy that is resistant to conventional drug treatment.”
he cant even execute a simple drug deal FFS w/o getting ripped off!

Why aren’t we talking about what he’s wearing?
Anyone?
We had our fill of style yesterday. No man can compete.
Boo
If where this senior Minister went to college was introduced
as happened with another Senior Minister here recently
then why not what he wears
as happened with another Senior Minister here recently
too
fair’s fair like
I was wondering a similar thing on a post earlier in the year, where Leo was doing one of those visits. A comment was made on what the lady who greeted him was wearing, and I wondered why they did not do the same for Mr Varadkar. I mean, was it Armani? Vidal? Louis? Paul?
There is definitely a difference in how people are perceived.
In case anyone is wondering, a mix of Fruit of the Loom, JP Penny, Pennys, and a cheap shop in the Nairobi market :-)
What are his college qualifications? Did he go to the “right” college?
How much did I pay for that suit for him to swagger around in?
Look no further that the header Daisy
with the best will in the world there’s not much that stands out about an unattractive man on a mundane suit
because it’s a suit…. the same boring suits that most TDs wear. Man who always wears a boring suit wearing a boring suit isn’t comment-worthy.
If he wears something different I’m sure you’ll get your comments (see also M. Wallace)
ah I see
Double Standards it is then
or is it playing the cards you are dealt
( divils advocate a bit here )
I’d hate to have the limited fashion choices of a man,
clothes are a great non verbal communication tool, imagine only being allowed a few adjectives
sure Leo tried with his socks and gets endless jip ( not defending the socks )
What about waistcoats? There are never enough of them these days if you ask me.
On waistcoats…
We had the little fella’s communion on Saturday last.
I had to pop out to collect shoes for Lady Bertie beforehand, all suited and booted.
I was stopped by a Guard on Griffith Ave.
“Just reminding you not to make unnecessary journeys…” he says
“I’m just dropping shopping in to my elderly in-laws”
He looks me up and down quizzically…
“Oh, the suit? My little fella is making his communion”
“I was gonna say,” says the Guard, “who are ya, the Milk Tray Man?”
:)
hahaha :)
cool story bro.
sure the illusionary friendly guard, cracking jokes and one liners, yeah whatever.
When you’re nice to people, they’re generally nice back. You should try it Johnny.
yeah sure there was I thinking you made the whole thing up as usual, trying normalize a group thugs violating your constitutional rights.
Any guard or nyp d*ick stops me – to ask me questions can go F…themselves.
You may give up your rights Like a lil b.. and play dress up while chit chatting to thugs breaking the law,it’s not normal for a guard to stop and question you, idiotic waistcoat or not.
I thought you were just a keyboard warrior… turns out you’re an eejit as well Johnny.
so angry, so edgy, so assimilated , a true American
Hope you returned the waistcoat on time,do you always rent clothing for solemn religious occasions ?
Go answer the guards questions there Bert !
Ha!
I’m sorry that it pains you so much to see others enjoy life Johnny.
I’m generally nice to people, consequently I usually have positive interactions with them, regardless of their jobs. There’s no great secret, just treat others the way you would like to be treated and your day is likely to be more pleasant.
“I was stopped by a Guard on Griffith Ave.”
“He looks me up and down quizzically..”
yeah whatever, are you really irish, oh right the chap who’s into rubbish brit pop and soccer, was it for this my grandfather fought ?
-so his grandson can’t peacefully walk down Griffith Ave,without getting harassed, stopped and illegally questioned by thugs breaking the law,i’d rater be arrested any day that answer guards questions, while strolling to see my in-laws on my streets, none their business where i’m going or why-or is it a crime now Bert ?
You don’t need to be offended by the encounter on my behalf Johnny.
I saw it for what it was, someone doing their job that would probably be in a million other places, we had a pleasant exchange considering the circumstances and I went on my way, both of us with a smile on our faces.
Feel free to dislike me for whatever reasons you choose… I like me and the people that matter to me like me. If you want to fill your lonely hours trying to pick fights on the internet, you’ll need to find a different opponent, I couldn’t be arsed with you or arguing on the internet in general. Peace out.
Edgy Johnny back in full effect, totally misreading the situation in spectacular fashion.
Johnny’s been at the sherry.
I’m not sure what you mean by double standards. I suspect you’re trying to make this a gender issue. If you don’t mean gender – what do you mean?
If a person (male or female) constantly wears bland clothing, and then one day is photographed in bland clothing…. nobody is going to comment.
If a person (male or female) breaks a tradition and wears clothing that is different to then norm (e.g. Wallace not wearing a tie in the Dáil)… it will attract comment.
If a person (male or female) wears noteworthy clothing (either good or bad reasons) .. it will attract comment.
heeemmmmmm
sure
women definitely get a harder time about their appearance V I do agree with that
its not that we take a harder time of it that I’m kicking off about
its that if what a Minister wears attracts commentary one day
why not another Minister – from the same Government
the next day
cause he’s manky ?;)
Good job Helen McEntee isn’t manky so
Do you not think that some women can be right biatches about other women’s appearances V & J?
yes and it’s usually the ones the most insecure or unhappy about their own looks
C’mere Same’oh
You’re no stranger to passing remarks on women’s looks n’ appearances yourself
The picture isn’t great either. It doesn’t lend itself to be commented upon.
Has he got decent posture though ? We’ll give him that. 2020 has not been good to mine.
Your trolling is fun to observe but not as successful as that of Charger
That’s a relief
A form of karma has bitten his ass it appears
fianna fail are a cancer on this country.
Why on earth does anyone vote for them? Aren’t they just FG with incompetence dialed up to 11?
i heard some study group said that the only difference they could find is that FF voters are people that go to mass. FF werent consigned to the history books after 2008 election. but i think they might be in 20 years time.
which study group was this, “Some chap down the pub, Inc”?
Incompetence is being too kind. Many people in that party today looked at Haughey, Ray Burke, Pee Flynn, Liam Lawlor , De Valera. Lenihan, Aherne, Cowen and many more like them and said to themselves ,that’s the party for me.
That should tell you something.
their days are numbered. they need to be completely demolished.
the 2 purple wearing SDs are jealous.
As an SD and hater of FF, i still say hats off to Donnelly for his political masterstroke – getting the MoH job within 5 years of joining FF. Says alot about the rest of the FFers and their incompetence.
…where did it all go wrong, Stephen?
“Somewhere in that building (above) are two women, possibly purple clad, having the absolute giggles.”
– will they be, though? Within 10 years of entering politics, he has risen higher than either of them has achieved after spending their entire careers in politics.
Sure, he’s getting plenty of flak, but what Min. for Health hasn’t?
Not everybody enters politics with such a careerist mentality. Maybe that’s par for the course in FG.
Almost everyone in politics does, in my experience; certainly the people who end up in power.
Yes, in your experience, in a party of the establishment. My point exactly.
Anyone who enters politics without a view to getting in power is missing the point- they should have it at being the ‘big dog on campus’ in the student union
They’re all bailing out of the spotlight – Varadkar tested negative for covid, but is ‘working from home’. He’s just released the news.
I would think the fact he has refused to attend that CoVid-19 committee thing twice has the long knives out?
The FF stalwart knives have been out for Donnelly ever since he talked his way into a) the party and b) into a Ministry.
He maintained that he left the SD’s for FF as that was the only way he could instigate change. What he’s produced is more of the same (which of course should have been enough for FF, but the long-termers didn’t like being overlooked for someone who hadn’t proved himself).
He has made an ‘appearance of sorts’ though and has contacted the HSE to tell them that window visits to nursing homes are OK under level 3. You’d think they would know that themselves? All bow and hail him and be grateful for that.
Zig & Zag, Socky, Donnelly & Harris all grew up a few doors from each other.
All these Muppets went to the same school.
Donnelly’s sister babysat Young Harris.
Keep it in the family lads!
haha.
