More Crisis Actors back to work in the US pretending there’s a pandemic… nothing to see, move along…

“With new Covid-19 cases surging in Louisiana, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will not be returning this year, organisers said.

The festival, which traditionally is held in the spring, had been scheduled to run 8-10 October and 15-17 October this year after being cancelled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

But organisers cited “current exponential growth” of new cases in the city and region, as well as an ongoing public health emergency, in announcing that the festival will not occur as planned, Associated Press reports.

“We now look forward to next spring, when we will present the Festival during its traditional timeframe,” organisers said, adding that next year’s dates are 29 April-8 May.”

Is there some weird mix up between name and emails or- is it just the same clowns yapping under various without knowing they are doing so?

I thought it was particularly awesome and a very clever ride by Kenny. On the other hand, his wife’s ride in the Omnium was very unfortunate in a particularly messy race. For Emily Kay too.

Yeah, what’s up there? You normally come across as so learned and balanced … ?

Once Jason K was presented with the opportunity, he did the obvious thing. Most or all of the finalists would have done the same thing and got the same result. If this happened at my club race, I would be disappointed.

Mushroom Mike finally breaks wind on the Zappone/Varadkar party.
The usual halfway up / halfway down spiel.

Kellie Harrington has graciously thanked the Japanese officials and hosts for the fine display of international manners and organisation. It was a difficult decision for Japan to make, with so many worries being expressed about the spread of pandemic. Japan rose to the occasion and contributed memorably to the history of Olympic sport.

Stop the Covid-19 vaccine carrousel, I want to get off!

Israel went all in, hard and early, with one of the highest vaccination rates in the world. But months later the Pfizer vaccine’s level of effecacy is seriously on the wane. The country is experiencing yet another Covid surge and the government has launched a booster vaccine program. Off to shakey start though – already 14 diagnosed with Covid after receiving the 3rd shot. Two of those hospitalised.

Is something similar going to play out over here? Is the current Irish government even capable of considering alternative approaches at this stage?

I take it that the data will be adjusted now to give figures of hospitalizations of people and deaths of people ‘with the covid vaccination’

    1. Mr T

Still looks to protect from serious disease, but almost no protection against infection & spread when vaccinated.
Makes the vaccine passes look even more pointless now – vaccinated people are just as likely to have it and spread it as the great unwashed

      1. george

The article is about 14 people. There are over 9 million people in Israel. Nowhere does it show that the vaccine provides almost no protection against infection and spread. Vaccinated people who get Covid-19 have a much lower viral load and spread the virus less.

Even if your false statements were correct how would that mean there is no point in the vaccine pass? It would still be necessary to prevent an increase in covid-19 cases causing problems for people who work in hospitals.

Talking of Covid – it seems there’s a bit of an outbreak in The Tyrone panel, including joint manager, Feargal Logan, leaving the clash with Kerry this weekend in jeopardy. (Rather than Croke Park). Thoughts and prayers, etc…

      1. Shayna

To be fair Frilly, The Red Hands have a decent record against The Kingdom at Croke Park, except for ’86 – Kevin McCabe “taking a point” from the penalty. No excuses, it’s not The National League, it’s The Championship, Tyrone will be up for it. Also, come on The Rebels!

        1. V aka Frilly Keane

True, ye’ve a record against Kerry that would make Rebels weep, in fairness

on the three times ye met in an All Ireland Final, ye’ve won 2. So a 67% success rate. Jesus we’d love that stat

But, unfortunately, using the same records, here’s the full measure Tyrone’s Championship back catalogue
          Tyrone – from a whole 6 finals, have managed a 50% success rate (3 from 6)
On the other hand Kerry have appeared in 60 finals, winning 37 – so that’s a 62 ish % success rate
For measure btw, Dublin have an almost 70% success rate – 30 from 43

I think what you mean by having a decent record versus Kerry, compared to Cork, of course ye do
Ye have three all Ireland football titles Shayna, so has Louth and Offaly

BTW, Cork has seven of ’em (out of 23 appearances but don’t ruin my buzz by bringing on the heartache of Cork Football)

FWIW, this is one of the finest Kerry sides I have ever seen
and that’s a lot more than three championship matches

Kerry +13 , no bother, they might even keep Clifford at home

Incidentally, not even counting replays – I think I’ve been to more All Ireland Football finals meself than yere total of 6, just saying

          87 88 89 90 93 99 07 09 10

          1. V aka Frilly Keane

Just copped it there now meself Shayna
I’ve seen three Football All Irelands just from that roster there
            alone

and shur our Football story is one of pity,
yet tis still better than yere’s

            funny that

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Was hoping Kerry would get a good game in before meeting the Dubs. Kerry’s to lose!
