Noooooo, please God no, as a proud Galway man I am dreading the day. it will have to happen at some point unfortunately.

Some resilience to come back year after year. Of the three teams left I couldn’t begrudge it to them.

nah. i can’t shout for mayo under any circumstances. and while i simply can’t bring myself to ‘hon’, i do wish the kingdom all the best.

No, they can’t win. The story of ‘the curse’ is just too good. And also….UP THE KINGDOM!

Great sign, directing Sam Maguire back to Dublin where it belongs

Mayo won’t win, the curse is still over them

As a Rossie, Mayo are our natural rivals – that said i couldn’t begrudge them in the semi-final against Dublin.

Kerry have enough All-Ireland medals, don’t like Tyrone’s style of football so i’m left with no option but to neutrally observe.

A good question – i am guessing, by virtue of my proximity to the border, i would be deeply entrenched in my Mayo-ness or Rossie-ness and the depths of my begrudging would be infinite.

That said I’m a Rossie living near the Sligo border and i have nothing but love for Sligo people and their good endeavours whatever they may be.

Tell me the answer Paulus – I must know, in limerick form if possible :)

Jeez that’s fierce existential territory for a simple form like the limerick:

I’m guessing you’re between Boyle and Arigna though?

          1. Fergalito

Nail on the head Paulus. You have me now !

Indeed the entire tract of territory from Boyle to Arigna could be called Fergalito country taking one’s ancestors into the equation. Now that said I’ve moved elsewhere but for me home is still that part of the world. Indeed a man learns fast that there’s a correlation between wanting to leave a place as soon as he’s of an age to make it happen and pining for the place and thinking “d’ya know, isn’t it a grand spot all the same” when he’s gone.
