Nothing But Boosters

at

This afternoon.

Navan, county Meath.

Meanwhile…

Mr Martin said that he would look with interest at how Austria implements its lockdown for those who have not availed of a vaccine.

However, he said that Ireland has a vaccine rate of 93% which places the country is a very different position, compared with Austria where 65% of people are fully vaccinated.

Mr Martin reiterated that the situation was “serious”, adding that vaccination levels meant the country was in a much different position than last year.

He also said the vaccine booster campaign was already showing promising results, with a reduction in serious illness among those in their 80s.

…i think we’re about to find out the answer to the question,
    what does MM stand for?

    Will it be Micheál Mussolini?

    …that’s the real question.

  2. Micko

As Cian pointed out earlier on

About 65% of ALL people (over 12) are Vax’d in Austria

That figure is 75% here – not 93%

So either he doesn’t know or understand this, or he is lying

    Worrying either way.

    1. Mr.T

Was just about to say – is that an actual quote from Martin?
Embarrassing if so, giving eligible vax rate for us (90%) and total vax rate for Austria (65) is either intentionally misleading or more likely, he IS that incompetent.

      1. Micko

Yup, so it’s either a misquote or RTE are making up what he said. Even MORE worrying!

Does anyone know what the Vax’d rate for over 12’s in Austria actually is?

        I’d imagine it’s close to our 93%.

    2. Cian

No. I quoted it based on total population numbers.
65% of ALL people (babies->pensioners) in Austria
      Vs
75% of Irish (again ALL, total population. from babies to oldies)

Either way, either MM or RTE are mistaken and mixed adults with full population.

  3. Free Lunch

*Gets popcorn as usual COVID topic suspects and content managers get confused between Austria and Australia. It means nothing to them.

lol the police here can’t even answer 999 calls or police the city centre, how could they ever hope to police the unvaccinated leaving their gaffs…. project fear

    1. Gavin

That’s bloody scary. If you were making a vaccine that was going to have an unending revenue stream I assume this would be the approach, make everyone completely dependent on it…didn’t the same thing happen with opioids in the US

      1. SOQ

Well I relate to my own experience, which is HIV/AIDS, where now everyone who is HIV+ is on meds and near everyone high risk who is HIV- is on meds.

Fauci was an architect in that too- quelle surprise.

        1. Kim The Cardassian

Are you suggesting that HIV+ people stop taking their meds instead?

What meds are HIV- on? PEP?

        2. Cian

You’ll be delighted to hear there is a HIV vaccine in human trials.

          Oh, I forgot, you’re anti-vaxx;

Those horrible Big Pharma companies making vaccines rather than meds.

          1. SOQ

There was a HIV vaccine in human trials near twenty years ago darlin- they all died.

Declare which washing machine spin cycle you are employed by please.

Otherwise- Cian- with all other dodgy names on this site- we are not interested in your monetary driven comments.

  5. SOQ

Mr Martin reiterated that the situation was “serious”, adding that vaccination levels meant the country was in a much different position than last year.

He is extracting the urine surely? 7 day infections, hospital admissions and ICU numbers are HIGHER than this time last year. If these vaccines get much more “effective”- we’ll all be in hospital by Christmas.

As for looking at Austria- despite the fact there is zero evidence that locking up the unvaccinated has any impact- he is clearly salivating at the idea. He really is a nasty individual.

    1. Kim The Cardassian

I dont like MM any more than you, and given you’re always spouting “evidence” for your claims. Perhaps you could show your evidence than MM is salivating at the idea of locking down the unvaccinated?

Also you need to do your research on the impact of Covid now compared to prior to vaccination. Its in the public domain.

    2. Cian

      LOL

This time last year SOQ was demanding Covid restrictions be lifted.

This time last year SOQ was saying there couldn’t be a second wave.

This time last year SOQ was saying there was already “natural immunity”.

This time last year SOQ was ignoring the daily increases in cases/and hospitalisations.

Now, at least, SOQ is seeing the rise in cases… but, somehow, it’s because of the vaccine?

If a person can’t provide proof of vaccination,in Ireland currently, theoretically they cannot go to the cinema,music/entertainment venues, pub, club…….soon barbers+ gym etc etc.

It begins to look like a lockdown for this person who is not in a position to prove vaccination.for whatever reason…………….

but we won’t be doing anything like that in Ireland. imagine a selective lockdown or lockout.

  7. redzer

The government won’t be doing this – it’s completely and totally unconstitutional. Anyone who seriously thinks that a lockdown on the unvaccinated is going to happen is a paranoid fool with no understanding of how Irish law functions.
