Northern Territory Chief Minister Martin Gunner announcing a ‘hard lockdown’.

Under a hard lockdown residents are only able to leave their homes and yards for medical treatment or in an emergency, according to the NT government.

At a press conference, Mr Gunner said the hard lockdown measures were appropriate because the “threat to lives is extreme” in the communities.

He said the federal government had offered to deploy 20 ADF personnel, as well as army trucks, to assist with the unfolding situation in the Northern Territory.

The trucks, Mr Gunner said, would help the transfer of positive cases and close contacts and “to support the communities”.

“I contacted the Prime Minister last night. We are grateful for the support,” Mr Gunner said.

“We are doing an assessment today of what extra resources we might need from the [federal government] and the Prime Minister is ready to help further.”

    If this is about what they claim it is about, Australia and New Zealand were the two countries with the most warning and knowledge as to what was coming. They would have had access to front line specialists and experts from all over the world.

    How much did they expand their respective health care facilities in that near two year period- while building these camps?

    Timing is mighty convenient after the historic protests on Saturday of course.

        Thing is, if they are using the PCR tests- many of those people will be false positives, in which care their chances of catching it will increase once ‘contained’- unless it is isolation cells of course.

        What Australia are doing is horrible and from what a poster below says about Aboriginal people being carted off first makes it doubly suspicious but layering on the ‘Nazi’ label is disingenuous. People should be able to recover at home unless they need medical assistance in a hospital.

          I don’t think it disingenuous at all – the “threat to lives in the extreme” is the same kind of hyperbole used by the Nazis and Soviets to justify the disappearing of many.

          I think the comparison with the Nazi’s is more to do with how it began in the early 1930s and where it could lead to.

          The Nazis didn’t kill the jews in concentration camps straight away. It began with propaganda saying the jews were carrying and spreading typhoid and they created a real divide of us vs them in the public psyche.

    So the first people subjected to such draconian measures are in Aboriginal communities. Maybe not relevant but they have pointedly been mistreated in the past in the name of progress and other such ‘good intentions’.

    This would be a tipping point for me. They’re taking positive cases out of the general populous to contain the virus spread? Is this the rationale?

    Ironically, hundreds if not thousands of Aboriginals were wiped out while being “civilised” by the British a few hundred years ago by being placed in camps/prisons with other Aboriginal tribes who they’d never ordinarily have come into contact with. Different tribes were exposed to diseases they did not have immunity against and perished

      The reality is that nobody can ever be “Fully Vaccinated”, that’s an impossibility. Nobody can actually say “I’m Fully Vaccinated” only “I am being Fully Vaccinated”.
      “Boosters”, what a great piece of propaganda work it was to get people using that relatively benign term for Constant Repeat Injections. If you have to have constant repeat injections, those injections are, by definition, not Vaccines, because that’s not how vaccines work. How many Polio vaccinations did you need, how many times did you have to get the BCG Vaccination? You know the answer.
      There’s been a lot of speculation about what these injections are but it’s way past the time when anyone can seriously claim that they are Vaccinations, that’s an utterly ludicrous idea.
      Each repeat injection is as useless as the previous one, each carries an increased risk of death or serious injury, as their toxicity is known to be cumulative & if you sign up to be “Fully Vaccinated” it’s a mathematical certainty that, sooner or later, the injections will kill you outright or shorten your lifespan & life quality, considerably. This is not a possibility or a probability, it’s simply a mathematical certainty.
      My money is on not a single one of the fools who continue to rationalize the utterly insane behaviour of our governments surviving to ten of their venemous “Boosters”. I believe most people, these days, aren’t healthy or fit enough to survive 8 of them but we’ll see, soon enough. 8, 7, 6….I’m counting down to your demise, you idiots, you’re about to be “Fully Vaccinated” to death, if you don’t apply some common sense, immediately.
      “Boosters Til You Die” get it?
      Then and only then, will you be “Fully Vaccinated”.

    Sweet Jesus. I watched that whole video. These guys are plain nuts. You would think it was ebola that had infected people. Now they have to stay indoors in 40 degree heat. Most are poor and do not have air conditioning.

    Then they are going door to door to mandatorily test you. Fail the test and they whip you out to the detention centre.

    The fear and paranoia are astonishing. Their governor looks like a maniac. Eyes popping out of his head.

    The data coming out about the negative effects of the vaxx’s is even more frightening. If you are under 60 you just more than doubled your risk of dying if you took the vaxx.

    Risk of death from covid under 60 : 0.2%
    Risk of death all causes non vaxxed : 1.2%
    Risk of death all causes VAXXED : 3.0%
