Unvaccinated parents in Western Australia will be banned from seeing their own sick children unless they get a special exemption under new measures drawn up by WA Premier Mark McGowan (above)

This afternoon.

Meanwhile..

‘Entry into a hospital by unvaccinated individuals (in those jurisdictions) is prohibited unless an exemption is in place or permitted under compassionate grounds, such as visiting a family member during the terminal phase of their life,’

Dr Andy Robertson, Western Australia chief health officer.

Thanks, Andy.

hard to believe some are still making this about the unvaccinated.
the vaccines do not have the efficacy promised.
the vaccines do not have efficacy beyond 3 months.
the vaccines do not stop transmission.

2 years in should there not be a test to see who is at risk to the virus rather than a test to see who has the virus but that poses no risk.
Also why is there no test for antibodies 2 years in?

      1. SOQ

Why isn’t it not widely available before people have to take an experimental gene therapy with no long term safety data?

Hopefully it is the last straw and the Australians take their so called government to task after two years of tyrannical abuse.

I suppose Australia isn’t too far from China so there may be a certain amount of leakage from the “the eternal leader” of China to be expected to flow into Australia.

for fupp’s sake people of Australia will you get up and get this crew of dictators out!

They have actually played a blinder in the deaths numbers cases and damage to their domestic economy

They learnt from the Spanish flu pandemic that by using the same plan they avoided what the rest of the world suffered

I thought Ireland should of taken the same approach instead of allowing it to come in and what resulted in destruction of many businesses .
Europe of course could not ban travel in as it’s not an island economy .
We could of ,but now it’s a bit late .
Remember without all those tax dodging multinationals using our tax laws we would be in dire straits.
That corporation tax saved the day
We can blame C J Haughey for that .

Australia has lost the plot altogether.

But, in the future, I think history will see them as “Covid winners” and all the crap they forced on their citizens will be forgotten.

They have a similar number of Vax’d to us and they only have 148 deaths per million population.

    We have 1221 per million.

Plus with Omicron being incredibly mild, that is the likely variant that will run through their country when they do open fully – killing very few.

New Zealand has faired even better (12 deaths per million). Both will be the poster child for dealing with pandemics, setting up how future pandemics should be handled IMO – and to some, the end justifies the means. ;(

        ;-)

Don’t think it matters anymore -the numbers (accurate or not) tell the story.

Once the narrative on Oz changes to “didn’t they do well’ and the ISAG types run riot again, we’ll have to see what happens.

        1. K.Cavan

How can innacurate figures, which you acknowledge, tell anything other than a lie? There was no Pandemic in Ireland according to the CSO’s figures. If there was, well there was a slightly bigger one in 2018.
          Facts are facts.

          1. Micko

Ask the person on the street what they think.

That is all that matters – once the collective will and desires of people goes one way – there is no stopping it.*

We’re all along for the ride.

You may be correct, that statistically, there was no pandemic. I don’t know.

But it’s all about the story we tell ourselves and each other.

        2. Rominick

The entire thing was based on a dodgy PCR test in the first instance.
So in that regard the numbers were meaningless.
There was only a pandemic of questionable cases from a test which picks up anything.

John Hopkins University recently published a report that lockdowns and other NPIs could not be found to have any real effect on infections & deaths.

Testing and border control maybe, but lockdowns and vaccine passports will not be recommended for future pandemics.

      1. Micko

If you look at the orginal HSE pandemic preparedness plan from “The Before Time” ;-) (it’s somewhere on their site), that explicitly says that lockdowns and quarantining the population would be a very extreme idea and should not be done lightly as the collateral damage to the population would be horrendous.

Anyway – we ignored it then, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t ignore the John Hopkins one in the future.

Of course, I hope I’m way off the mark and it never happens again ;)

      2. K.Cavan

Plenty of scientists knew this from the off. If you have a case of any Coronavirus inside your country, it’s going through the population & there’s literally no way of stopping it.
Everyone inhales billions of virus particles with every single breath, many people have yet to get a handle on this.

    2. Hope

They are both island economies .
We are also an island nation. Islands can do what they did .We did not
Not only are our numbers bad but put in the islands factor and it’s worse .An added bonus for New Zealand and Australian is the mental health of their citizens who escaped internal lockdowns for a large part .

And it dose not stop there. Add in the missed procedures due to meltdown with health.
But of course in the coming years when it’s all analysed ,these facts will be overwhelming.
This governments handling of covid19 was disgraceful and many businesses will fold as a result.
Get ready for the next crash.

  4. SOQ

This doesn’t surprise me at all.

The whole thing has brought out some right authoritarian ogres who are now mad on power. It makes no scientific sense of course but sure did it ever? They are going to push it as far as they can before just like Canada, the people say enough.

The elections in quite a number of countries are going to get very interesting next time around.

    1. paul

how can keeping parents from their sick children be ‘not that bad’? Where does your mind go when you imagine someone thinking that? Get some fresh air will ya, clear out the cobwebs.

      1. Me So Harney

Plenty of people on here apologising for Australia, Paul. Plenty. I definitely am not the one needing oxygen.

        1. Hope

Why would anyone be apologising for Australia.
My wife’s best friend and husband lives there.got out after the crash of 2008

While we lived in lockdown they had freedom in Australia to live a good life .
So no one could travel abroad and they stuck to their guns .
Hugo is one of the psychologists that could not get a job when the crash happened and now brings his skills to a well funded and decent health systems and given the respect so missing for the health professionals our HSE employs

  5. Kim The Cardassian

    Awful stuff.
Pity we don’t see the same outrage at Australia’s continued mistreatment of refugees.

      1. Chris

‘As anti vaxx usually corresponds with racism’ – in your empty head it might, the real world? No.

    1. Hope

Well holding them in camps like our European partners do I assume they do not need to as illegals realise Australia is not for them.
Mind you many of the ones landing in Europe head to the UK if they can get there.
As for us for all our waffle not many are arriving here .
And can you imagine what would happen when we cannot even house our own people.

  6. K.Cavan

One thing’s for sure, the reputation that Australia & Australians had has been altered radically & they’ll be forever marked out as an extremely Authoritarian nation. I was aware of this from the reports of mates who’d done the visa year there. “An insane, bullying nanny-state” said one. Cops with drug-sniffing dogs enter pubs at night, nobody ever gets busted, the floor just gets littered with small packages but the effect of police with dogs in pubs full of drunk punters means confrontations & violence occurs, regularly.
They also have long-running problems with bent coppers & they have had multiple Irish-style “Enquiries” & “Tribunals” dealing with this. In one state, the cops had corrupted the legal profession, who’d snitch on defendants to the cops.

  7. K.Cavan

I would add that, from a Virology viewpoint, you could hardly find a less welcoming climate for Coronaviruses than that which most of Australia enjoys, so putting their success in combating it down to the government’s actions is not wholly justified. Even an Irish Summer banishes Coronaviruses, they’re a Winter bug, if you catch a cold in the Summer it’s much more likely to be a Rhinovirus or another virus that’s not encapsulated in lipid.

    1. SOQ

Agreed and more so with New Zealand. It was Sunetra Gupta who pointed out that New Zealand’s annual respiratory rates are so low that they don’t even register on the global chart. The only surprise would be if they had high or even average fatalities.

But none of that matters to the Covid Cult- masks/lockdowns/vaccines and when that doesn’t work more masks/lockdowns/vaccines – and on and on we go. Meanwhile the vaccine injuries and fatalities keep growing.

Same coercion impulse here: Adults told they can’t accompany their elderly parents to hospital appointments unless they too take the stab.

Japan appears to have a certain level of independence from Big Pharma- which has allowed them to follow the real science, rather than the politics.

Fake News keeps changing the story. Wonder why?

        And yet, from 2005:

        https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1232869/

“We report, however, that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage. “

        1. Fearganainm

          2005, eh? Do keep up.

If you knew anything you’d know that late last year Kowa announced an Ivermectin study that wouldn’t be completed until the end of March this year. Initial positive lab findings have been a feature of ultimately failed efforts to find a way to successfully use Ivermectin. It would seem that someone at Kowa put out a positive spin too early, hence the revision to initial press releases.

            You’re missing the point.

The US The National Center for Biotechnology Information has known for over 15 years that HCQ is effective against Coronavirus.

No need for lockdowns, masks, fake vaccines, any of it.

    1. SOQ

Even if they drop all restrictions, they will deny to the death that it was anything to do with the truckers. But it going further than that now- the truckers want Trudeau’s head.
