Hard to imagine he was shocked by this. Does he really feel that he has done enough to bring the general public on board ? Does he think people are greatful to him for the way the country has been run under his watch? Strange how yesterday there is a nasty horrible homophobic attack in the news, today this, I do hope that he was not abused over his sexuality – that would be off limits I think. I do hope that this is not an attempt to conflate two issues.

Dublin is fast becoming a two class city. The place has become so expensive that the creatives and the free spirts are packing up and leaving, because they can no longer afford to live there.
IMO they were the real soul of the city and what is left is the privileged- and the angry- a hollowed out shell of it’s former self.

I couldn’t agree more SOQ. Utterly stripped at both ends of the very essence of what it once was. Granted we always had to contend with entitled skangers suffering from Lynn Ruane Syndrome (everyone’s else’s fault / utter disregard for personal responsibility) but these days it’s either angry dangerous feckers or dull boring techies and banksters that dominate the landscape. all i know is he was on his own land,minding his own business with his own legally held firearm(s),maybe he was just out having a jog or a stroll on his private land…like Leo above ….maybe it started with some filming and verbal abuse which maybe escalated…..like i said stand your ground,or don’t…but its for the best if people and un-leased poaching dog’s stay off clearly marked private property.

Whatever about Leo (it’s clear he is detested on here and does think he is gas whilst he is not) but can yis not take some solace in the fact, that essentially the ‘part time president/prime minister etc.’ of the Country can go out for a jog in one of the dodgier parts of Dublin and the least he has to worry about is a few lads calling him a wanker out the window of their car. Not many other Countries around the world that could happen.
