The High Court yesterday ordered that a man who lost an appeal aimed at stopping a Revenue investigation into an allegedly negligent 16-year-old tax return cannot be named.
The Hon Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley said that the man can only be identified by his initials, DOB, in reports until she hears further submissions today.
Martin Hayden, SC, senior counsel for DOB, requested that his client not be named. Úna Tighe, counsel, for Revenue, argued that the man should be named as his tax appeal had been heard in public…
