Myself and my boss were in town yesterday when we met this lady. She had just returned from the Websummit to drop off a bicycle at her apartment that she had just won at an exhibitor stand. We congratulated her and as we were all headed back to the Summit too we offered to share a taxi. I later checked to see who won the Aer Lingus selfie competition (business class flights! we had entered) and she had bloody won that too! Jammy!
Heartwarming.
G’wan the lady luck.

Re; the [Web] summit [wi fi] outage. The RDS can handle up to 20,00 devices but with 20,000 people attending the summit and many of them carrying at least two devices the venue would need to have capacity for 50,000+ devices. Wouldn’t this have been known in advance though?
Anyone?
Fix the wi-fi or Web Summit will leave Ireland, warns founder (BreakingNews)

A guide to the ‘controversial‘ tech summit

He sez:
“This cover is a response to the Web Summit being held in Dublin on the 4-6 of November. I wanted create a visually quirky image that represents and combines aspects of both the conference and the city it is being held in. I create my work by headbutting a sketchbook until ideas fall out then I verbally abuse a computer until it does what I want.”
Fair enough.
