‘The Snug’.

An immersive installation by much-loved illustrator Fatti Burke toasting the Irish pub’s sacred space and its special place in our culture.

Lilly Finlay writes:

Hen’s Teeth has partnered with Fatti to celebrate The Snug through an installation that will pop-up in their Blackpitts, Dublin 8 gallery from the 28th of July to the 15th of August. The Snug is kindly supported by our friends at Guinness, and all visitors will get a complimentary pint of plain while they enjoy the show!

Hic.

Fatti sez:

“I wanted to create a place of surreal familiarity on the walls of The Snug, covered in graphic artwork and nostalgic ephemera. There’s a shared longing for warm nights in the pub with your favourite people, and I took this longing along for a cheeky ride. Snugs have a comforting feeling and you want to leave them covered in jokes and brightness and freshly made memories. It’s about fun and Irishness and the power to be found in having a laugh.”
