The charred remains of six houses which were destroyed by a fire in Newbridge in March

You’ll recall how six homes were destroyed by a fire in Millfield Manor, Newbridge, Co. Kildare on March 31.

Today, Michael Clifford, in the Irish Examiner, writes that a report into the fire has been carried out by fire consultants Michael Slattery and Associates.

Mr Clifford reports:

“A report into fire safety on the Kildare housing estate where six homes were burnt to the ground in just 30 minutes has highlighted widespread fire safety concerns…The results from the investigation suggest that the fire safety deficiencies are widespread through the 80-house estate, which also includes six blocks of apartments.”
