Japanese RC helicopter company Hirobo plans to introduce its single passenger helicopter by 2021. It runs on a silent electric motor for 30 minutes at a time and can reach speeds of 100km/h.
The company envisages the prototype as a rescue vehicle (its silent operation making it easier to hear the cries of casualties) but for now, commercial release is stalled for unspecified legal reasons.
The unmanned version is expected to cost $125,000 and the one-seat variant will cost $375,000.
