A sumptuous timelapse of Rio de Janeiro that attempts to avoid ‘the cliches and stereotypes of this city to make a video that shows Rio with other eyes’.

Rioting broke out in Rio de Janeiro during protests against rising public transport fares (and forĀ better public services and working conditions) led by the country’s largest trade union.
A cameraman, Santiago Andrade from Brazilian station Band TV was hit by what was thought to have been a tear gas canister or homemade explosive. He was taken in a critical condition to hospital where he has undergone emergency surgery.
