A copy of the 1916 Proclamation hangs outside the site of the demolition of the O’Rahilly house, home of 1916 rising leader Michael Joseph O’Rahilly, pulled down without warning early yesterday morning to make room for an aparthotel development with 105 flats fronting on to Herbert Park.

Protestors outside the Mansion House, where  Dublin City Councillors voted to not grant protected status to The O’Rahilly’s House (top) in Herbert Park. Dublin 4.

The house was the home of 1916 rising leader Michael Joseph O’Rahilly, and is due to be demolished to make room for a proposed aparthotel development with 105 flats fronting on to Herbert Park.
