There’s a populist right wing party to launch.

This week on The Saturday Night Show It-girl and model Daisy Lowe will join Brendan to talk fashion, modelling and baking. Independent TD Shane Ross will be in studio to discuss whether or not he will lead a new party into Government. Irish actress and television host Caroline Morahan will drop by to talk about life in LA and her upcoming role in ‘She Stoops to Conquer’ in The Abbey Theatre. Plus Síle Seoige and a host of Irish stars will perform their charity single ‘Maybe this Christmas’.

PussyRiot

Riot confirmed, unpredictably.

Karen Fitzpatrick  writes:

This week on The Saturday Night Show, in their first ever European chat show appearance Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina will join Brendan on the programme.
Nadezhda and Maria will be joined by economist Constantin Gurdgiev, a lecturer in Finance with Trinity College, Dublin and a regular contributor to debate here in Ireland.

Also this week, The Saturday Night Show will host a debate on homophobia; what constitutes homophobia and who gets to define the word? (Panel details will be announced closer to transmission).

Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent Simone & Flavia Cacace will chat ahead of their upcoming show Dance ‘Til Dawn and perform a special tango from the show.

All this, and Marty Whelan talking about his new hair transplants. It’s too much…

“Now on the Saturday Night Show two weeks ago, comments were made by a guest [Miss Panti Bliss, Rory O’Neill] suggesting that the journalist and broadcaster John Waters, Breda O’Brien and some members of the Iona Institute are homophobic. These are not the views of RTE and we would like to apologise for any upset or distress caused to the individuals named or identified. It’s an important part of democratic debate that people must be able to hold dissenting views on controversial issues…

…Now, coming up in part two, could you cope if society collapsed? And we’ll see the cream of upcoming Irish craft design.”

Brendan O’Connor, Saturday Night Show this evening.

Fuppin’ groupthink.
