The ’emigrant flame’ from JFK’s eternal flame in Arlington Cemetery, Washington DC arrives at Dublin Airport carried by government chief whip Paul Kehoe (top) and ceremoniously handed over by Lieutenant Colonel Brendan Delaney (left) to Lt Comdt Conor Kirwin (right).
The flame will form part of a ceremonial event in New Ross, Co Wexford on Saturday as part of the JFK50 celebratory events.
Not odd in the slightest.
