Unnecessary tagging on The Linesman, City Quay, Dublin today.
Laura writes:
“The bronze piece by Irish Artist Dony MacManus commemorates the tradition of docking in the area and was the winning entry in a public art competition organised by the Dublin Docklands Development Authority in 2000….”

a quick google reveals that he’s previously been up in court for tagging Darts with his mate.
The tag he used is yogi. Looks like a charmer all the same.
i hate tagging. wow, i’m able to scrawl my name on a high building. teenage rubbish
The sculptor was on with Joe yesterday and it will have to be removed and an ironworks will have to do some specialised cleaning on it to remove it.
FYI: The rope was cast from the Garda tug of war teams rope and the model was a boxer.
I likes a bit o’ trivia like that :)
That’s bullshit. Sounds like a bunch of people just want to make some money out of so are making up the specialist cleaning line.
just across the river human faeces and urine are a common feature day in, day out on the steps and forecourt of the custom house. Not a bother there.
They build little cardboard forts behind the railing and live there. tis mad
“Unnecessary” tagging. Like it!
As if it’s sometimes necessary :)
Graphic litter is all it is.
Frankly, there is only one solution for dealing with those pricks who put Graffiti everywhere, if they are caught (note the if) they should be made clean it off by the courts. The more they have to clean the less inclined they’ll be to do it again.
Or maybe tattoo their tag in a sore place…
No, that’d be too mean. Your plan is better.
Actually Sinabhfuil…that’s not a bad idea!
I can hold and use a spray can. Wow, get you.
I have a tag.
Coz it’z cool and from da street, ghetto, barrio. Just like me.
Fuppin’ muppets
+1
Like a spoiled kid tapping on your shoulder constantly, begging you for praise.
But, tagging is their culture maaan.
In that case, truncheon-happy policemen is part of my culture.
It’s art, don’t you know.
Plenty of good street art about (DMC, C215, Omin Foes, Fink and many others). Brightens up the place. This tagging malarkey is shite though.
I’m still waiting for someone to do something decent with the arse end of the Convention Centre – it’s crying out for a giant Ouroboros, or maybe Saturn devouring his son.
Exactly what I was going to say. It’s like trying to compare someone drawing a cock’n’balls to Picasso, you could argue both are painting, but only one is art.
Here is Yogi
