Independent TD Thomas Pringle said he was told this afternoon by the family that they had just received the news.

Can we not ban all flights from Africa until this is under control?

The only flights to Africa from Ireland are run by Ryanair and they go to Morocco. At the last check Morocco was about 3,500km from Sierra Leone. Jerk that knee any higher and you’d be in Riverdance.

Is that true? How come there are so many African asylum seekers then, if they are supposed to claim it in the country they first land in outside of their own – genuine question. Or have the rules changed?
