Our direct provision guests aren’t citizens of the state yet, (pending outcome of asylum process, which may or may not complete, terms and conditions apply).
Women who were quasi-judicially detained and enslaved were also dis-enfranchised, it’s unfortunately not surprising….

You don’t have to be a citizen to vote in this country. Resident British citizens are allowed to vote in European, local, and Dail elections. EU citizens may vote in Europeans and the locals. Non EU residents may vote in local elections. Unless they’re in Direct Provision camps, of course.
That’s one outrage deflating post right there…. all worked up and ready to type furiously and turn my fingers into tiny nubs, beating, and beating and beating on the keyboard until I go insane. But, I guess… I’ll just put the kettle on.
